Bridging the Gap: Connecting Research and Policy in the New York State Legislature January 2020- May 2020 Cornell University Policy Team

• Conducted research for a policy team specializing in environmental and public health policies. Presented policy suggestions in Albany to the special committees in the NYS legislature. Created meta-analyses and discussed relevant faculty research findings to NYS legislators. Coordinated with NYS legislators and their staff to schedule meetings, access research needs, write policy briefs, and summarize content from presentations. • In summer ‘19 created informative and palatable content about green practices and resources for the residents of Tompkins County. Rewired and presented the ElectraBike, a bike pedaled light bulb display, at the annual Grassroots Festival Sustainability Fair (photo on LinkedIn). Worked on quantitative data input and coding the department’s website to comply with Cornell University’s ADA guidelines.

• During the ’19-’20 school year, I worked with CCE-TC and Cornell to train volunteers to lead informative tours about green homes in Ithaca during the Green Buildings Open House (canceled because of COVID-19).
