UNDERGRADUATE PROJECT

Development and Characterization of Fiber Metal Laminate in Structural Automobile Application Oct 2019 –Jan 2020

Predicting the impact strength and the flexural properties of Aluminum-based Kevlar-Epoxy Composite Material.

Analyzing behavior of FML under low velocity impact load by considering FEM & predicting damage propagation of FML by 3-point flexural test using Universal Testing Machine. RESULTS

Achieved an overall weight reduction to 25%, with ultimate tensile strength of 9.1kN, maximum bending capacity up to 9mm and also withstand the impact load up to 7440N.

Performed impact test with various conditions on the FML with lead bullet using ANSYS, to understand the effects.

INDEPENDENT PROJECT

Development of Al-Based Fiber Metal Laminates for Automobile Structural Application (Theoretical) Jul 2019 – Oct 2019

Developed a composite material to improve strength of automobile parts (bonnet, side door, spoiler, etc.) using Aramid fiber and Epoxy Resin.

Improved strength of Al by laminating it with Kevlar by adhesive bonding using Epoxy Resin; increased automobile efficiency by reducing overall weight of the automobile. IN-PLANT TRAINING

Worked as a maintenance trainee on CIW shop; visited paint shop, power train shop & final assembly shop.
