Dispatch of trucks
This was a task that involved loading and unloading of the supply trucks. This allowed me to improve my interpersonal skills as I was constantly communicating with the casuals to ensure the job is done right. It also gave me a chance to improve my problem solving skills as well as organisational skills as it required me to plan the day to day trips of supply. Stock Take
This required me to communicate with the factory on what stock was being received and consolidate it with the stock that was dispatched from the store. This gave me a sense of responsibility as I had to submit this information at the end of every day and any slight mistake would cause a difference in the accounts. It also gave me an eye for detail as I was required to be extra vigilant when doing the reconciliation.
Supervising of staff
This was a task that required me to monitor the movement and output of each employee in the store department. This brought out the leader in me and allowed me to improve my leadership skills. Tracking of Vehicles
Once a truck was dispatched from the warehouse, it was my responsibility to ensure it follows the correct route chosen by me and does not make any unnecessary stops a long the way. This was a tedious task only because we would dispatch more than 3 trucks in a span of 2 hours which all had different routes. Dispatch of Daily Orders
I am responsible for collecting daily orders and scheduling deliveries to hotels and restaurants throughout Nairobi. This is a role that has allowed me to perfect my time management skills as well as organization skills as the products being delivered are perishable and require special attention so as to ensure they are of top quality when delivered.
