I prosecute a wide array of crimes against elder and dependent adults including physical abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, neglect, real estate fraud, theft of intellectual property and financial abuse.
I work with elder and dependent adult victims from all backgrounds, helping them with the court process, but also assisting them with obtaining restraining orders, financial restitution, and physical/emotional safety.
In 2019, I proposed, wrote, and successfully argued the passage of California Senate Bill 304 before the Senate Public Safety Committee and the Assembly Public Safety Committee. SB 304, codified in the California Penal Code as of January 1, 2020, expanded protections for elderly victims of financial abuse across the state, enabling county prosecutors to consolidate cases across counties to more efficiently and effectively prosecute criminals who target the elderly and disabled. AARP was a co-sponsor of this bill.
In 2019, I was awarded nationally for my work in obtaining restitution for elderly crime victims.
