When I matriculated in 2017 I knew I wanted to build a career in the yachting industry. I completed most of my RYA Courses in Cape town. I’ve always had a passion and love for the ocean weather it be sailing, swimming, jetskiing, bodyboarding or fishing. I am strong minded, proactive and willing the learn, with a strong work ethic and a sense of humor. I am very independent but I am always eager to learn more and gain better knowledge and perspective. I am experienced in cleaning, sanding, painting, fiber glassing, varnishing. I have great interpersonal skills and interact well with people on a personal as well as professional level. I am looking to forge a path in the yachting industry and to work my way up through the ranks. As the seasons progress, I plan on battering my education and experience in the long run, I am willing and driven to become an asset on a vessel.

Employment History

July - August - September 2019 Deckhand/Skipper S/Y La Pelosa 2/ 45ft I joined this vessel to help deliver from Cape town to the Seychelles vai Comoro islands and Madagascar. My Duties were to helm and do 2 shifts a day, night and day aswell as adjusting the sails. When in port, I scrubbed and washed the deck, did line maintenance and general upkeep of the vessel, changing oil etc.

Daywork – I was asked to do a full washdown of this 26m Motor yacht in South of france while looking for a permanent Job as a deckhand, we did teak cleaning, a full washdown and we also did a full interior clean and polished everything.

Setup a whole party with catering on a island across from cannes, france, we helped usher guests with tender from the boat the the island where we helped setup the function and got all the catering ready for the guests. We had to make sure the guests had and got whatever they needed. We did line handling, accompanied quests back to the boat and from the boat back to land. There were about 50+ guests at this birthday that we accompanied and assisted.

October 2020 – January 2021 Waiter/ Bartender Meating Restaurant I was a waiter at this restaurant where I learned bartending, making coffees like a barista and also being a waiter and assisting customers with their needs and wants from our menu. We specialized in Meat so our menu mostly consisted of Meaty products. We also had to clean the restaurant every morning and detail the fine things.
