Software Engineer Intern UR2D - Usha Rama Research and Development, India April 18 – June 19

• Designed and developed a face recognition using Eigen face recogniser algorithm, SVM algorithm, NumPy and open cv for a virtual assistant called Magic Tree, which is designed to provide answers for voice queries and natural language-based user interfaces.

• Responsible for design, development and customer hand off, and oversaw the end-to-end release cycle for the product.

• Collected requirements, interfaced with several teams to understand requirements and engineered prototypes that were demonstrated cross team to ensure the product development is headed in the right direction

• Iterated on the POC and added complex layers on top of one another to achieve the final expected product as designed.

• Assisted marketing in helping to educate the nuances of the product and to ensure that the marketing literature is consistent with product behaviour.

PROJECTS

Recipe Book: (Angular, Type Script)

• Designed and developed a website called recipe book, which is a single page application (SPA) using angular, where it stores recipes and guides user how to.

• The whole application is built in Angular-CLI and it also provides role-based authentication facility.

• Fire base is used as database and to store the recipe data. Hotel Recommendation System: (Java, Mongo DB)

• Designed and developed an application to facilitate the user to get the recommended hotels based on previous search criteria (per person analysis).

• Used Java technology for the backend, MongoDB to store the data. HTML, CSS and Bootstrap for the user interface. CARPOOL Application: (Java, Android studio)

• Designed and developed a ride-sharing Android app where users are given capabilities of requesting/offering rides.

• App Engine is written using Java's Spring framework (hosted Restful API's) and set of micro services. ETL: (MySQL, MongoDB)

• Designed and developed an application for extracting raw data from a file and transforming that unstructured data into structured using mongo dB commands and loading it into MySQL database.

• Three database functions are combined into one tool to pull data out of one database and place it into another database. College Registration Form: (Shell script, Linux)

• Developed an application, by using shell script commands for college where the student can register in different courses.

• Implemented a third-party software using Linux commands and produced the Registration form.
