1)Project: GOTD – Scheduling Jan 2016 – Till date

Description: Ford Motor Company, is an American multinational automaker that has its main headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. GOTD – Scheduling is a project within GOTD (Global order to delivery platform) with the goal to convert legacy systems database using legacy database over to DB2 and SQL server. As part of this project, legacy systems will be converted to DB2/SQL server with microservices and COBOL batch programs. This involves modifying and integrating existing legacy regional systems to global integrated system. Also new GOTD systems aims to improve existing systems scheduling solutions for manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

Create data mapping documents and database design for existing and new systems used by teams.

Create automated workflows in COBOL, Alteryx, R, Python, Qlikview and Tableau to compare data between legacy systems and new GOTD systems and make sure data is consistent across several systems.

Automate data corrections for any data mismatched detected between legacy & New GOTD systems and report to management for crucial business decisions.

Analyze existing and new systems for performance targets and make sure new systems are meet the performance targets. Saved the company a significant amount of money, about 3-5 million dollars per year in terms of infrastructure costs and legacy modernization improvements, which were highly recognized by Ford management.

2)Project: SNE Finance (AP & AR) & DCS2K Migration April 2014 – Dec 2015

Description: The project aims to eliminate DCS2K VSAM files and convert the existing system to the order management DB2 database system. It is a legacy modernization project which failed many times in the past, costing Walmart several millions of dollars.

I worked as part of the logistics portfolio for the DCS2K elimination project, which interfaces with around 11 application systems.

Environment: MVS, z/OS, COBOL, DB2 9.0, IDMS, IMS, Cassandra, Teradata, HBase, Hadoop, R, JCL, CICS, File-AID, SPUFI, ISPF, VSAM, Xpeditor, Abend-AID, Java Spring.

Responsibilities:

Working as the Project lead for SNE Finance (AP & AR) and am responsible for delivering the DCS2K project from the logistics scope nearly 250+ newly developed COBOL components, medication of 800+ JCL batch jobs, 700+ batch programs, 250+ FTP interfaces, 80+ complex permanent scheduling changes, and migration of 5000+ Batch jobs.

Review and Sign-off delivery for deployments under logistics scope.

Prepared data mapping document, Data Model, Database design, data migration, and data validation strategies.

Worked with the Business users in all phases of the project from requirements to implementation. Goal was always to meet client expectations.

Preparation of design documents like SRA (System Requirement Analysis) and TSD (Technical Specification Design) based on business requirements and analysis.

It is re-engineering of the existing Z/OS system to the high-end mainframe LINUX system. Also, this project integrates Merrill lynch wealth management system with Bank of America systems. The project supervises entire wealth management products for America's bank and ensures all managed products adhere to the US government's rules, regulations, and contracts. All Financial Advisers and wealth managers of Bank of America for their day-to-day activities use this platform. The corresponding Financial Adviser or Wealth manager will be informed and recommends corrective actions whenever legal rules are violated.

4)Project: Reengineering of Back office & Performance improvement Oct 2007 – May 2010

Description: The project's objective is to migrate all scattered legacy data into a single DB2 Database so that the new application REEBOC application can use it. With the successful completion of this project, all legacy applications were shut down and replaced with newly developed applications.

The project also aims to reduce the CPU consumption of mainframe applications and develop test environments for new applications post launch.

Responsibilities:

Worked as a team member on different technical tasks and developed many Input-Output Modules.

Designed and coded the inventory batch module, which critical for the life of this project. The inventory batch module consists of 30000 lines of complex SQL and COBOL codes, excluding called modules. In addition, the batch has a time constraint to complete within 6 hours to calculate entire money within the bank and report to top management. Got handwritten appreciation from IT Director of AXA next to CTO.

Worked as Development DBA and Database Designer for this project.
