Painting and Sandblasting field
8 years in all phases painting field and of sandblasting / various media, wet slurring, dry etc. 5 years combined shipyard coatings. Technical operations Refineries and Energy plants... 10 years combined offshore onshore drilling rigs, oilfield surface protection .
● 1) Spray paints and sandblasts heavy equipment, such as concrete mixer trucks, boom trucks, and payloaders, using spray gun and sandblasting equipment: Cleans grease, dirt, dried concrete, old paint, and rust from equipment, using solvent, water, rags, brushes, pneumatic wire brush, and chipping hammer.
● 2) Cleans and prepares surface for painting, using air-powered sandblasting equipment.
● 3) Applies paper and masking tape to protect unpainted surfaces, such as windows, trims unwanted painted equipments.
● a. Bristle blasting a2s Monti, grinding with welds and prepare for two or three part coatings!
● 4) Stencils lettering and other identifying information on vehicles, pipes and tanks according to specifications.
● 5) Selects paint according to company color scheme and specifications
● 6) Stirs paint, pours paint into spray container, and applies primer or finish coat of paint, using spray gun
● .7) Paints areas inaccessible to spray gun, using paint brush as well touch up for holidays!
● 8) Disassembles paint and sandblasting equipment and cleans equipment, using solvent, wire brushes, and dry cloth.
APPLICATIONS
Experienced in various pneumatic spray painting systems, including; Airless pump, Premier, Bulldog, Graco, and Titan with operating ratios of 45-to -1 and 78-to-1 running by volumes 50% to 100% by solids. This will include plural and single marine, industrial INTERNATIONAL AND SHERWIN WILLIAMS CARBOLINE PRODUCTS
PPG PRODUCTS epoxy’s, sealers, primers and specialty liners along with finish top coats. Coatings consisted of major marine, offshore components such as Amerloc series, International 600 series and 990, Carbolines, Sigma, Tinemic, PPG, Imrons and Polyurethanes with tips from 400-500 series. Conventional spray pots, 2-5- 10 gallon, siphon, bottom feed Binks, Clemco systems with Binks and Sharps mainly Devilbiss spray guns and HVLP along with tip ranges from E, D, and C for high millage Carbomastics, Euro Navy 100% solids. Sandblasting sand pots systems, 2 and 4 outlet, pneumatic, electric operatives guillotine and Thompson setups using medias as coal slag, silica sand BLACK BEAUTY, Garnet grades 3 and 4 grits, steel shot, and at times CO2 in applications of SPC's of 5, 6 and 10 scale. Water blasting / Jetting water blasting experience using Husky and Flow International systems UHP ranges of 35 to 45K pressures with jettings of # 09 to# !2 - 5 jet orifice gun systems, Jetlance 3000 series. Shipyard water blasting and slurry haz-matt containments operations included blasting all steel hulls of the U. S. Navy bow to stern to boot top levels and draft line to freeboard levels. Blasting with new jett systems (dry media w/water jet stream). Priming consisted of usually a 2-3 part primer coating system using air staging and man lift suspensions, cable rigging and or air staging, air spiders and scaffolding along with safety netting and full dust containment during entire blasting and painting operations. Marine Offshore experienced in rigging operations for waterline blasting and painting at extreme levels of splash zones at boat landing and dolphin landings bringing blasting And painting levels according to customer specs up to 8 foot levels on all structural including conductor and to header ranges, sub cellar, production levels. Rigging all required equipment for decking and subcellular levels for blasting to SSPC standards of 5 or 10 profiling and checking anchor profiles for priming between safe humidity levels for proper specs. In charge of managing paint crews in ranges of 4 to 12 man team and maintaining a high production rate along with complete job safety awareness at all times.
