Dec. 2009 to Dec 2017—Fluor Inc of Greenville, SC and KBR of Houston, TX.

Refrigeration Journeyman. Operations and Maintenance on several

military bases in Afghanistan under LOGCAP 4. Diagnosed and repaired

walk-in and container refrigerated units used for military food

storage and mortuary services. Repaired and replaced components to

include compressors, sensors, doors, gaskets, filters, fans and

valves. Generated and tracked work orders and estimates using

Microsoft, Excel, and Maximo software. Also performed HVAC O&M work

and filled in for HVAC foreman as needed.

Quality Control Inspector/Lab Tech. Inspection and documentation in

assembly, fabrication, receiving/ID, heat-treat systems with metal

coupon testing, sealants, and chem-treat lab analyses. Skills include

precision measurement, reading blueprints, and interpreting customer

specs. Also wrote purchase orders and created first articles of

inspection. Microsoft, Excel, and Vantage software.

2003–2004 Self-employed in Argonia, Kansas

Contractor. Made and installed cabinets, remodeled homes and formed,

poured and finished concrete. Constructed room additions and garages

from drawings and bids to roofing, siding, and paint. Power tools and

skid Loader.

1977–2003 Vulcan Chemicals – Wichita, Kansas.

R&D Pilot Plant Operator. (1992-2003) . Operated experimental

processes including start-up, shut-down, and trouble-shooting. .

Sampled process streams and air, documenting results. Worked with

engineers and chemists to improve designs and results. Equipment

included reactors, distillation, and refrigeration using electronic,

pneumatic instrumentation, plus PLCs. Participated in the Process

Safety Management and the Emergency Response Team. Also maintenance,

solid and liquid hazardous waste, chemical lab, Process Hazard

Analysis, and procedure writing. Personal Protective Equipment as

needed.

Chemical Plant Operator. (1977-1992) Began as Operator Trainee and

advanced to Chloromethane control room lead operator (crew of three)

in 1985. Operated production unit including start-up, shut-down,

trouble-shooting and maintenance. Equipment included reactor,

distillation, and ammonia refrigeration as well. Member of Emergency

Response Team. PPE.
