Description:

Positive train control (PTC) is a system of functional requirements for monitoring and controlling train movements as an attempt to provide increased safety. Positive Train Control (PTC) is GPS-based safety technology capable of preventing train-to-train collisions, over-speed derailments, unauthorized incursion into work zones and train movement through switches left in the wrong position. PTC monitors and, if necessary, controls train movement in the event of human error. PTC may also bring trains to a safe stop in the event of a natural disaster.

Responsibilities:

Involved in Requirement Analysis of BOS, CAD and Onboard, estimation and test effort tracking.

Validating PTC (Positive Train Control) and Regulatory Compliance of NS railroads system.

Track Defects in both Internal systems such as HP ALM, SharePoint and informing Vendor management systems with required logs and other artifacts.

Work closely with vendor, Developer, Business analyst and within the team to assure that’s the system is working as expected and resolve system issues in case of any.

Taking part with test execution and scheduling, impact analysis review, peer review and client/vendor deployment meetings.

Ensure planned test cases are executed, testing progress are required in ALM (Pass/ Fail, downtime, issues etc.) and publishing and distributing reports/metrics to the team at the end of testing.

Verify message flow between the systems using in-house viewer –tool (XML –EMP).

Modify existing test cases and create new test cases along with the identification of the test data and per new requirements demands.

Ability to read BOS logs and troubleshoot during testing efforts

Knowledge of tools used for debugging and viewing OB logs
