CURRICULUM VITAE OF THABANG SHARON SEGAECHO
Thabang Segaecho was the Founder and Executive Chairwoman of Icarius Productions. A traveler by nature, in 2003, while enrolled with UNISA she embarked on a journey to United kingdom where she stayed for 2 years and learned the tricks of the trade within the Marketing and Events Industry from an international perspective. Back in South Africa In 2006 she was crowned Miss UNISA Cape Coastal and went on to represent her region at the MISS UNISA National pageant in Pretoria. The following year, while back in the UK she was appointed to render services as a recruitment agent as well as representative of the London Westminster College in South Africa and beyond.
An entrepreneur and a Sales Executive at heart she went onto work with South African Breweries, Japanese Tobacco International, The Spur Group, MTN, The Wine Crew, Chrysler South Africa, just to name but a few. While working at Jeep she was awarded as one of the Top 15 Sales Executives in the country. Icarius was the first company to ever be selected by JTI to undertake their main market, in 2010. From 2010- 2012, while appointed to spearhead the launch and continuous marketing of the first ever black-owned Spur Steak Ranch in South Africa, Thabang introduced White Star Maize Meal onto their menu, a first for the legendary restaurant, which was highly welcomed by the Corporate Spur Group. Under her marketing management, the Yamme Wine Group nominated the Amitola Spur to serve at their annual iTownship Wine Festival (Gala Dinner) since the restaurant also hosted monthly Wine Tasting Events for black owned Wine Labels. Recently in 2014 she entered into the Talent Innovation Programme, a competition open to all UNISA students. The TIP is an initiative run by the Research and Innovation Department of UNISA. Out of the 48 selected innovators she made the top 6 finalists.
