Educator, Dayton High School: Dayton, NV 2018 - 2019 Dayton High School is located in rural Lyon County, Nevada. I taught roughly 130 students, daily, across 6 class periods and a homeroom. I taught Graphic Design 1-3, Video Production 1-3, and Computer Literacy. I modernized the curriculum for Video Production, introducing industry standard editing software as well as allocating funds for equipment. I served as the on-site IT Technician and assisted with event equipment and student activities. I enacted a lab audit and created an equipment checkout program so students could get extended time to work on projects. This provided ways for students to use their skills beyond the classroom, assisting with videography and graphic design needs in other departments and around the school. I was involved with county curriculum meetings introducing Computer Science classes to comply with Nevada Senate Bill 200, to offer computer science in all high schools by 2022. I was one of the first pilot programs, testing and designing new education experiences with coding, in Computer Literacy classes.
