EXPERIENCE

JM pipefitter/Foreman Strike group Edson AB

I have worked on and off at strike to encompass all the time between jobs from 2017 to current. I have recently been laid off due to a shortage of work. My employment at this company has covered a multitude of responsibilities and roles. Foreman roles were most common for me during shutdowns with strike and I usually run a picker truck doing every and any job available. Ex. Torqueing, fitting, threading, rigging, drawing and job planning, third party representative, assisting other trades, running equipment when necessary, line digs and replacements,

JM pipefitter 2019 Aptim suncor main plant shutdown

I worked on this shutdown from start to finish on the turbine systems. This job required use of large cranes in blind congested lifts, an aptitude with hand rigging, high torque equipment, ability to read and understand drawings and follow the procedures set for removal of turbines and gear boxes as well as associated piping.

Piping foreman 2018 Jacobs suncor main plant shutdown fort mcmurray

I worked on this project in its entirety as a piping foreman. Ensuring that paperwork lockouts, quality and safety were done to the standards and procedures of both Jacobs and suncor were my main responsibilities as well as ensuring that work and timelines were met and coordinated with other disciplines and trades.

Welders helper 2017, Oj pipeline dawson creek Tc pipeline

I worked on this job from start to finish over the 6 week project as a welders helper on 36” pipeline

Steamfitter 3rd year, Strathcona Mechanical Limited

I recently worked here, I was responsible to be able to follow detailed drawings and shape and form pipe in order to fit up with the welders as well as rigging in all the pipe and working with different types of pipe. Some of the specific things I was working on was stainless steel domestic water, 4” carbon gas line, 10” cast pipe with mechanical joints. Being able to accurately measure and use lasers to assist in blue print making was an asset at this job, as well as a full understanding of orthographic, isometric, and PNID’s. I worked here until recently as they have started remping down and I am not a 488 union member.

Steamfitter 2nd year, Kiewit Energy

·I worked on hydro crew on 56” GRE and long length hydro and fit up for 42 carbon steel piping. We were responsible to fit up, sling and move pipe with a crane as well as hydro testing this pipe, using pumps to bring fluid to and from our area. As well as load the spools back onto trailers for transport and insure the proper rigging procedures and equipment were being used. I have been in contact with Kiewit and due to a lack of work I will not be returing there.

Steamfitter 2nd year, Strike Energy

·While working here I was responsible for driving and operating a 1ton picker, hauling trailers, finding way to rig pipe into racks during turnaround and modifications to facilities. As well as many maintanence projects around the area. We did some lease construction however my strong suit was aimed towards turnaround work which I found to be very similar to working on mods. Being able to safely lift and maneuver pipe into place in a safe and timely manner. I left this company to go to Kiewit because of a slow down in work.

Steamfitter pipefitter/ maintanence hand, Randy See Enterprises

·I worked here for two and a half years working on many different maintanence positions from plants to small facilities. I drove my picker truck with one helper and we were expected to have work done with no supervision. I was responsible for ordering parts and lining up work with other companies in order to get it done in an orderly safe fashion. Some other duties included, shutting in and starting up leases, threading jobs, tying in instrumentation to various pumps and valves and changing spools to accommodate the operators. I was very diligent and punctual in this position.
