WORK EXPERIENCE
Materials Research/Process Engineering Intern Polymer Technologies, Inc. (PTI) May 2018 – August 2018
• Conducted research on metal injection mold (MIM) parts by running DOEs varying MIM manufacturing parameters (debind times, furnace locations, materials, etc.) and compared results using JMP software to reduce cracking in parts
• Tracked QC inspection results of products and compared with MIM parameters to search for trends used to mitigate product variability
• Built SolidWorks models of molding plates to evaluate mold compatibility with injection molding machines to expedite new product launches
Manufacturing Engineering Intern Polymer Technologies, Inc. (PTI) June 2017 – August 2017
• Worked in multi-functional groups to create more efficient production processes and mitigate problems
• Designed degating & coining fixtures on MIM parts utilizing SolidWorks to improve secondary processes
• Performed quantitative QC inspections on plastic and MIM parts and arranged data for downstream use ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Capstone Project – U.S. Navy SEAL Combat Swimmer Data Recorder Stevens Institute of Technology August 2019 – May 2020
• Created a design proposal and execution plan for a closed loop system capturing environmental and human performance parameters to increase training efficiency with a constructive, streamlined debriefing process providing greater operational capability
• Generated an algorithm structuring raw sensor data from a smartwatch to present a 3D dive profile with overlaid heart rate data to indicate possible areas of high exertion thereby reducing diver health risks Biomaterials Laboratory Development Stevens Institute of Technology August 2018 – December 2018
• Designed and developed a 3D printed femoral scaffold for fracture treatment by theoretically assessing bone properties and cell proliferation and performing FEA verifications to ensure safety of design
• Developed a transdermal drug delivery patch to improve inflammation reduction and drug release rates LEADERSHIP
