Collaborated with the pre-construction team to prepare Class D through Class A estimates of custom luxury houses for clients located throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Using Mazenga’s current trade contractors and historical cost data the estimating department established accurate building cost budgets for presentation to the clients for projects ranging in size from one to several million dollars in value. Prepared preliminary estimates and studies during preconstruction of new developments project. Evaluated estimates obtained through the Cost Consultant for the proposed developments. This involved analysing cost data, performing quantity take-offs attributing unit rates and information used as a “rule of thumb” for building systems estimated costs. Supervised the tendering process and ensured assigned tasks within the estimating department were completed and delivered within timeframes. Performed extensive quantity take-offs using digital software to create a bill of materials factoring-in material, labour and overhead costs to produce a detailed estimate of the forecast costs for high-rise residential projects. These costs were provided to analysis the rate of return for prospective investors to the developments. Prepared the trade contractors scope of work to be issued for tender.
