ACADEMIC PROJECTS:

Development and investigation of the optimized method of cutting fluid application.

Motivation for the research:

Coolant and coolant management costs are between 7.5% and 17% of the total manufacturing cost compared to only 4% for cutting tools.

Chips have to be dried before recycling, which incurs additional cost.

The current trend in the metal-cutting industry is to find ways to reduce cutting fluid use.

Methodology:
