Professional background

Preoperative preparation of the patient including scanning the patient through Chest X-rays { If not contraindicated },ECG and other supportive laboratory tests along with counselling of the patient for the anesthesia is always my priority as it forms the basis of conduct of anesthesia and judicious use of intraoperative drugs. ASA guidelines along with gold standard textbooks forms the basis of my decisions during preoperative preparation of the patient including cardiac, renal and neurology posted for surgery other than affected organ. Current knowledge of medico-legal and ethical considerations related to anesthesia and critical care has contributed to my patient care.

Postoperative care of patient is based upon my understanding of current drugs and procedures used in acute pain. The postoperative analgesia plan is prepared as per the mental makeup and physiological aspects of the patient.

In the Intensive care department, management of the patient is usually a team effort. My understanding of the respiratory mechanics including basic and advanced respiratory support systems, knowledge of the pathophysiology of vital organs along with the ability to resuscitate according to ACLS,ATLS guidelines and perform interventional monitoring of the heart lung system help me contribute to the team effort in the management of the patient.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 15th Feb-2003 to 17th July-2003 Full time Anesthetist and Emergency physician

at Bhagwati Hospital, Borivali [west],Mumbai, Maharashtra. Daily routine was to evaluate the patient for surgery by performing a focused history and physical examination, reviewing laboratory and special test results, and assess the need for additional testing prior to proceeding with the surgery. During surgery:- Provision of assessment of the patient through monitoring and controlling the patients vital life functions, including heart rate and rhythm, breathing, blood pressure, body temperature and body fluid balance, Control the patients pain and level of consciousness to make conditions ideal for a safe and successful surgery. In Post Anesthesia Care Unit [PACU]:- Provide consultation for evidence of recovery — including activity level, adequacy of breathing, circulation, level of consciousness and oxygen saturation and provide adequate pain control regimes in accordance with patients medical conditions.

Head of Anesthesia with daily schedule involved attending medical, trauma and burns emergencies including the provision of medical assessment and diagnosis, respiratory and cardiovascular support, and infection control in medical as well as burns cases. Provide airway management, cardiac and pulmonary resuscitation, advanced life support, pain control and preparing the patient for emergency surgery in case of trauma and plastic surgery.

Consultation in Anesthesia included relief of a patients pain during a surgical procedure and provide adequate pain relief post-operatively. Provide or prescribe specific pain medications or perform specialized procedures to maximize patient comfort
