MANAGER FOR FACILITIES MAINTENANCE & OPERATIONS (2014 – Present)

Spearheaded the daily operational excellence for the entire facility and orchestrated construction, renovation, and ongoing maintenance projects for the hospital proper and four medical office buildings (MOBs). Directed attention to detail towards conducing regular inspections of multiple facilities to determine repair and preventative and routine maintenance needs. Developed and implemented infection control risk assessment (IRCA) and interim life safety measure (ILSM) forms, and collaborated directly with infection prevention specialists to validate and enhance said forms in order to minimize and mitigate the spread of infection diseases, including COVID-19. Led and professionally developed a team of 30+ members, completed scheduling and payroll processing, and created and assigned work orders, including preventative maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM), and web request (WR) work orders.

Key Projects:

COVID RESPONSE: Teamed up with an engineering agency to devise and record a method of procedure (MOP) to convert a patient unit into a negative pressure room, thereby increasing the capacity to attend to COVID-19 patients without compromising non-COVID patients.

CONTINUITY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Strategized and introduced shift scheduling changes, online cross-training initiatives, and contract labor to secure continued operations through a 20% reduction in workforce.

CONTRACTS OVERSIGHT: Reviewed all current contracts, identified areas of cost savings, renegotiated contracts, and opened competitive bidding, capturing savings of $27K in 2019.

SAFETY AUDITS: Drove safety measures and promoted a healthy work environment, resulting in zero conditional findings on the 2017 Environment of Care/Life Safety Survey by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

ENERGY SAVINGS: Established and cultivated a strategic partnership with the local electric company, worked with them to identify areas of potential energy savings, and implemented said cost savings initiatives, saving $25K annually.

CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR (2008 – 2014)

Coordinated tasks and drove the meeting of construction targets among cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, sub-contractors, and more. Prioritized safety through compliance with life, safety, environment of care (EOC), and JCAHO regulations and rules. Oversaw multiple areas of infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Managed all interior upgrades and renovations, and maximized building envelope integrity, including roofs, windows, and door upkeep. Administered short- and long-term project budgets ranging from $10K-$1.5M.

Key Projects:

ED WAITING ROOM RENOVATION: Maintained 100% functionality of the emergency department waiting room during floor and front desk renovations. Integrated security features; replaced ceiling tile; retrofitted HVAC devices, automatic doors, and access controls; and completed customized wall paint jobs.

MRI INSTALLATION: Oversaw the removal and replacement of an old MRI machine in an active department, ensuring that adjacent MRI rooms were unaffected during shielding and electrical upgrades.

ELEVATOR MODERNIZATION: Prioritized safety for staff and patients while orchestrating three elevator upgrades.

MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDING RENOVATIONS: Collaborated with the Real Estate Director to organize 25+ leased suite renovations while minimizing interference with adjacent suites. Project scope included total demo of existing walls (and corresponding plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems); wall framing, texture, and paint; flooring; millwork; and voice and data outlet replacements.

PALLATIVE CARE SUITES RENOVATIONS: Executed renovations of six suites, including flooring, paint, ceiling replacement, HVAC, and bath and shower enhancements.

HOSPITAL INTERIOR FINISHES UPGRADE: Effectively balanced renovations which occurred in active spaces while ILSMs and ICRAs were in place. Project scope included flooring, LED lighting, and ceiling installations; painting; and millwork.

EARLY CAREER: Owned a successful fabrication and installation company, Surface Pro, which specialized in both residential and commercial construction projects, including kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, and shower enclosures. Drove daily operations to ensure complete customer satisfaction and return business. Built and cultivated business relationships with clients, builders, contractors, and interior designers.
