Start-up Experience:

Unique Business Card Ventures For Small Businesses(Dec’20 to Till date) I ‘am a hobbyist poet. My friend and I came up with the idea of printing poems on the backside of business cards, which are commercial topics like “Food, Car, Bike. And sell the idea to print it on the back of their business cards targeting small businesses. Customer’s get a premium touch on their business cards at not premium price. We did revenue of 10,000 Rupees in a short period, having 15 paying Customers in and around our neighborhood town Ambattur.

My role is mostly Card design & Supplier focused, finding various suppliers, Meeting them at their office, Getting Quotation, Negotiating, Doing basic design, outsourcing card design with design vendors, Following up and delivering materials to customers. Besides, I write poems & sometimes I meet customers as well. Here I have learned the basics of running a startup hands-on.

Current projects:

A. Innovative projects

1. AIR TO WATER GENERATOR: Self-sustainable solar water generator for drip Irrigation during peak summer & in cultivable drylands. (Mar 2020 – Till date)

Scope of Work

According to the TN Govt data, the average revenue loss due to drought in the agricultural department was 251 Billion per annum, only due to lack of water. During summer, solar energy to be at its peak & water lands to be dry. The idea here is to design a low cost portable solar operated water generator that harvests water through condensation process at maximum efficiency and vent’s dry air on another side. Advanced drip irrigation technologies and the identification of crops that consume minimum water could make all drought-hit drylands into farmlands. Roles and Responsibility:

• Interacted with formers on their field and collected information about their cyclic production process, water demands, irrigation methods.

• I have done a detailed study on existing machines on the market, their capacity, power requirements, generation capacity, and Refrigeration modules.

• I arrived at the technical specifications of a primary machine suitable for irrigating one acre of land through drip irrigation.

• Brainstormed & arrived at various conceptual designs of the final product, multiple features required, a big picture of the product, critical parameters, and non-critical or ad on features needed.

• Done Design calculation to find power required for water generation, Capacity of the system, Power generation from the solar panel, Efficiency of the system.

• CAD modeling of a feasible concept is done.

• Detailed design, identifying low-cost cooling module supplier, procurement, Minimalistic prototype building, and testing is in progress. 2. Easy washing brush: Design & Development of a Low-cost liquid soap dispenser along with a brush for the masses who otherwise use bar soaps for clothes washing (Mar 2020 – Till date) Scope of work:

In my own experience and discussion with other bar soap users for clothes washing, I found three problems, and they are 1.Skin irritation since it comes direct contact with the hand, 2. The last 20% of the soap goes to waste as we cannot hold it as long, 3. It’s a highly laborious process as it’s a two-step process of applying soap one and then brushing. To solve the above problems, I designed a simple brush with a controlled liquid detergent dispensing system. That is easy to use, has no left-out soap waste, and won’t cause any harm the skin as it never comes in direct contact with the skin.

Roles and Responsibility:

• I have identified the common problem which we usually ignore, understood the problem completely.

• I am done with quick Prototyping & testing with the readily available product on the market (Brush, Drips hose, Liquid soaps).

• I have tested myself and also given it to nearby aunts to try it and recorded their feedback.

• Created CAD modeling of the concept, implemented some feedbacks from test users.

• Overall feedback was good, still improving based on their suggestions and looking for the optimized final design within a budget of 100 rupees and can be mass-manufactured & distributed through the supermarket. 3. IoT based module to measure the rate of consumption of LPG gas, the current capacity left out in Cylinder and displaying the same in a mobile app using raspberry pi zero, and helping the user to book cylinder on time as well as manage cylinder leaks:(Nov 2020 – Till date) Scope of work& Progress:

Here the Idea is to design and develop a low-cost IoT( Raspberry Pi zero, Load cell, tracking mobile app ) module to measure and monitor the LPG level in the cylinder to rebook the cylinder autonomously. An addition to the gas leaking sensor & auto- locking system improves safety with the low cost to the 12 Crore Cylinder users in India. All the works are in the very early study and conceptual design stage. B. COMMERCIAL PROJECTS :

1. VIBRO SIFTER for Food processing Industries. : (Mar 2020 – Till date) Scope of work:

Vibro Sifter is a widespread industrial product used to separate two different grades/ sizes of powders or mixtures. Without reverse engineering any existing vibro sifter, we tried to create a new vibro sifter from concept to Manufacturing with all open data that’s readily available on the net. The scope here is to build the product, test the parameters and then compare the existing machine results. Roles and responsibility:

• Done a detailed study of all vibro sifters, their components, and functions and made a concept model.

• Through a detailed design review, we identified critical & non-critical parameters required for the system's performance.

• Critical parameters were validated through design calculations.

• Done Material selection based on contact parts and not contact parts classification data, critical components like springs, Vibration motors were identified & selected.

• Suppliers were identified for springs and motors, negotiated, and orders were placed.

• Drawings were made for all fabricated parts and are yet to be fabricated.

• Works like fabrication, assembly, and testing were under process. 2. Cost-saving project for a Hotel client Design, develop and implement solutions to improve their process, minimize labor, and enhance Solid waste management. (Sep 2020 – Till Date) Scope of work:

Our client spends close to 10 Lakhs per year extra on disposing of solid wastes, extra labor for dry utensils clean up, and excess water consumption. Roles and Responsibilities:

• We did a thorough discussion with both the hotel managers & workers and understand the problem clearly.

• Here we applied our goal instead of just cost savings, and we looked for opportunities to generate revenue from solid food waste.

• We made a rough sketch of the suitable design technology.

• We did a basic conceptual CAD modeling, made a detailed presentation, and presented it to the customer. I am waiting for the customer’s call to take it further to do detailed design, build, install, and test one by one. C. ACADEMIC PROJECTS:

1. Design, Fabricate &Testing of Jute fiber Reinforced mono Leaf Spring: (Dec 2019- Mar 2020)

The goal is to reduce the leaf spring weight by replacing the steel with natural fiber composite materials and studying vehicle performance improvement. Roles and Responsibilities:

• We did a detailed study in understanding of Leaf spring, its MOC, and its parameters.

• Done Design calculations using numerical methods, 3D model in Solid Works, analysis in ANSYS Workbench.

• Done Manufacturing and testing.

• The result of the project was, we find performance improvement in a vehicle with 63 % of weight reduction but less reliability when compared to steel. 2.Design & fabrication of vibration testing rig for leaf spring:

(Dec 2018 - Mar 2019)

This project is to make a simple mechanism to apply a vibration motion to the leaf spring.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Collected many data on types of mechanisms through online and lab visits.

• Conceptual designing.

• Material purchasing.

• Manufacturing and testing.
