Unique Business Card Ventures catering SME’s (Dec’20 to Till date)

I ‘am a hobbyist poet, One day I and my friends who have a similar interest in writing poems on the discussion we came up with an idea of printing poems on the backside of a business card. We write hundred short poems on commercial topics like “Biryani, Cars, Bike, Cakeshop” etc... And sell the idea to print it on the back of their business cards targeting small businesses. I write poems & also sometimes supplier follow-ups. In a short span of time, we did a revenue of 10,000 Rupees, having 15 paying Customers in and around our neighborhood town Ambattur.

A.Innovative projects

1.Human Safe UV Sanitizing Booth for schools, hospitals & Industrial Application : [Mar 2020 – Till date]

Scope of Work

The project aims to sanitize the human body by using UVC light. Even after washing our hands, we still carry germs/viruses on our clothes and body. This project aims to sanitize the complete human body at the gate while entering a gated community, Hospitals, Industries, Schools, etc... With the help of “UVC SANITIZING BOOTH” We can destroy not just Corona Virus, but any kinds of harmful viruses and germs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Did a detailed study on usage of UV light in sanitizing humans, Different UV lights available on markets, UVC light properties, usage and cost.

Brainstormed the possible booth configurations, design constructions, how user will come in, Get UV light showered over them for certain time, indication to user when it’s done etc…

Made a hand sketch of Booth, took reference from existing Booths and done Design calculation to find the dosage to kill coronavirus and harmless to human, time for sanitizing, Number of UVC lights used.

Identified UVC light supplier, Send email for quotation. Received quote along with datasheets from supplier. Detail design of the booth is in final stage.

Works like, purchasing of materials, Fabrication of final products, Prototyping, Testing were under progress and yet to be completed.

2.Design of Small Concrete made wind turbine harvesting energy from high wind speed during cyclone & Distribution of many such turbines along the side walls of terrace that adds to aesthetics of the building as well as generate power during cyclone. (Mar 2020 – Till date)

Scope of work:

During cyclones, power cuts lasting for many days would be a common problem due to the falling of electrical posts. The goal of this project is to utilize high-speed wind during cyclones to generate power, store it in a power wall and use it. I believe, a simple, compact wind turbine designed and build using concrete when deployed 100’s of the turbine along the walls of the terrace could generate energy sufficient to power the home for a week to 10 days during cyclones.

Roles and Responsibilities:

I have collected data’s related to the speed of wind at the time of the cyclone, Direction of wind, Monsoon changes, Number of cyclones per year etc...

Done a basic study on the feasibility of the idea and brainstorming for various conceptual design ideas and design calculation to decide the structure of the turbine, Withstand the high speed of wind, height and also type of the turbine.

Work in Progress:

The other works like designing various blade design, vertical blade design, changing material as concrete / composites, doing detailed CFD analysis of the same at cyclonic wind speed, building a small MVP proto and testing the same during cyclone season is ongoing.

3.Privacy mobile case: Design of mobile case that will help user with physical buttons to switch off the camera & mic when not in use, giving privacy at the hands of smartphone user : (Nov 2020 – Till date)

Scope of work:

On social media lot of private photos, audios and videos were leaked. As privacy becomes a major concern, the idea is to design a mobile case that physically closes/seals the camera and mic when not in use with the switch of a physical button, enabling maximum privacy to the smartphone user. You could use the smartphone without compromising on privacy using this case.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Collected lots of privacy breach details, how hackers access and takes control over your phone camera and mic etc…

Did a detailed study on privacy and its related issues, privacy related to mobiles,

Brainstormed the possible design of cases with physical buttons, screens that closes & seals both camera and mic.

CAD modelling of various concepts, making a proto and testing is still under process.

B.COMMERCIAL PROJECTS :

1.VIBRO SIFTER for Food processing Industries. : (Mar 2020 – Till date)

Scope of work:

Vibro sifter is a very common industrial product used to separate two different grades/ sizes of powders or mixtures. Without reverse engineering, we tried to create a new Vibro sifter from C2M with all open data, that’s readily available on the net.

Roles and responsibilities:

Done a detailed study of all vibro sifters, its components, and functions and made a concept model.

Done a detailed design review, identified critical & non critical parameters and validated that parameters through design calculations.

Done Material selection based on contact parts and not contact parts classification data.

Key components like springs, Vibration motors were identified & selected.

Suppliers were identified for springs and motors, negotiated and orders were placed.

Drawings were made for all fabricated parts and is yet to be fabricated.

Works like, fabrication, Assembly and testing were under process.

2.Cost saving project for a Hotel client. Design, develop and implementation of solutions to improve their process, minimize labour, improve Solid waste management. (Sep 2020 – Till Date)

Scope of work:

With our custom designed machines and innovative solutions, we reduce their expenditure from Rs.10 lakh to Rs.5 lakh on disposing of solid wastes, extra labor for dry utensils clean up.

Roles and Responsibilities:

We did a thorough discussion with both owners of the hotel, managers & workers and understand the problem clearly.

Brainstormed with two other friends and found possible solutions to each of the problem. Indeed, here we applied our goal as instead of just cost savings, we looked for opportunities to generate revenue from solid food waste.

Made rough sketch of the suitable design technology.

Did a basic conceptual CAD modelling and made a detailed presentation and presented to customer and are waiting for customers call to take it further to do detailed design, build, install and test one by one.

C. ACADEMIC PROJECTS:

1. Design, Fabricate & Testing of Jute fiber Reinforced mono Leaf

Spring. (Dec 2019 - Mar 2020)

It was a team project. Here the goal is to reduce the leaf Spring weight by replacing

the steel with natural fibre composite material an study on vehicle performance

improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities:

In the team which had five members, My responsibilities were Done design calculations and solid model using Solidworks.

The result of the project was, we find performance improvement in vehicle with 63% of weight reduction but less reliability when compared to steel.

2.Design & fabrication of vibration testing rig for leaf spring:

(Dec 2019 - Mar 2020)

This project is to make a simple mechanism to apply a vibration motion to the leaf

Spring.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Data collection on types of mechanisms then did conceptual designing.

Purchase materials then did manufacturing and testing.
