COVER LETTER
Dear Sir/Madam
My name is Londeka Nompilo Nkomo and I am from Cape Town South Africa. I currently work for a company that is a global technology and e-commerce leader, with 20+ years of experience behind it. I truly believe that the brand speaks volumes to not only me but the creative and unique side of any individual. Digioutsource truly inspires many to not only look at the online platform with a keen eye, rather with a reflective and re-creative mind-set that allows for more than just purchasing a product but receiving outstanding service. The brand perpetuates the innovative way of forward thinking and analytics by consistently revolving and rebranding itself, whilst maintaining the simplistic, yet chic, effect which speaks to different demographics at the same time.
I attended the University of Cape Town and majored in English Literature and Media & Writing. Furthermore, I completed semester courses abroad while living and experiencing a different culture. I attended Harvard University extension school and The Boston Academy of English while on a cultural exchange programme to further my passion for not only people but places as well. However, prior to my Cultural Exchange experience in the USA.I have also worked in retail, at The Urban Degree Store and also worked for a wedding co-ordinating company that re-introduced me fully to the beautiful world of deco, event planning and styling. Since returning from the United States of America, I have since been working for an online marketing company that specializes and outsourcing gaming information to foreign markets. I have not only experienced being an agent in a team, I have also experienced being a Service coach and learning how to develop my own team, and moving into the learning and development team as a technical facilitator and trainer. In doing so, I have gained experience in dealing with clients as well working in teams.
What I have learned is that a team is as good as the work and effort they put in. Working in a team environment is one that requires strategy and hard work as every individual is different and cannot be treated the same. Moreover, what my current and previous positions have taught me is that Soft Skills are incredibly important no matter where you are or what position you are in within the business. Soft skills lie within the fabric of what makes a great employee as that can turn an incredibly irate client’s or employee's opinion around, whether you are dealing with a wedding guest, with a customer or with an individual in a different country. People are incredibly valuable in the world of retail as they are the ones that matter, they are the focus when buying and selling a product.
While I have worked in retail and events before, I have learned to be customer centric and map out the customer journey to guide them as best as we can. I have taken courses such Emotional Intelligence courses and Personal Branding to further develop and hone my own skills. Working with team members has also taught me that it is important to approach each of my colleagues differently as everyone has a different way of approaching any situation. While working as a Service Coach and Technical Facilitator, I have experienced both the challenging and rewarding facets of each. In overcoming the challenges it was vital that I understood each individual on a fundamental learning style before moving forwarding, understanding why there was a level of misunderstanding and further unpacking the issues that come with understanding the person and how they interpret and retain information.
I am currently in the learning and development team conducting workshops and technical training sessions to different depepartments within the business. I have run multiple onboarding sessions, new employee programs, sports content marketing and brand marketing programs as well. Furthermore, I have also tackled organizational development workshops such as Excellent Customer service while also attending the Emotional Intelligence and Personal Branding courses as well. The beauty of being able to develop people is incredibly rewarding but can never stop at that. I am constantly trying to develop myself and consistently acquiring knowledge as knowledge is the only thing that increases when shared.
I believe that I am not only passionate about people but about lifestyle, development, and business as well. I have a unique interest in business, and I am an incredibly visual, reflective and sensory focused individual. I have previously worked for business owners that were highly respected in society. I believe that I am a confident, committed, and effective learner with great communication skills. I am exceptional when placed in a team however, I am just as inspired when working independently. I am self-motivated with the ability to motivate and manage others. I am an organised and can plan my days accordingly while also leaving room for any unexpected changes that could occur. I take great initiative and I can deliver quality work while producing great results at all times. My experience from my previous and current positions has played a major and profound role in shaping me and how I work with a team and how I can also manage myself independently. I can adapt to any environment and will always give 150%.
Regards,
Londeka Nompilo Nkomo
