Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited Kampala, Uganda JULY 2018 to Present Applications Developer

• I was part of a team of developers that lead a process of conceptualizing and refining requirements for a Stanbic Agent Banking solution in liaison with the Business team and established suitable continuous architectural design improvements for the solution. I also handled development for several modules and integrations on the platform.

• I lead the project management activities for a TOTAL prepaid fuel Card payment system that included ascertaining functional and non-functional requirements from the TOTAL business and IT team, establishing suitable design, determining development and infrastructure related costs, development and deployment.

• Using C# dot NET, MSSQL and PostgreSQL, I developed a web application platform to empower Customer Care Center team to handle inhouse apps related queries, reconciliation, monitoring and reporting which reduced TAT on queries by close to 80%.

• I led the development team during the migration of bank transactional systems to use a newer version of Core Banking.

• Using skills in Azure Bot Framework and LUIS API, I developed and trained a ChatBot to be used as Customer Care Virtual Agent in handling unlimited requests simultaneously in order to free Customer Care Personnel for queries that require more investigation and provide 24/7 support.

• Created monitoring scripts using PHP, C#, C++ at server and transaction level which ensured close to 99.8% availability and reduced transaction related complaints by close to 80%

• I increased the Company’s Revenue targets through the development of a voluntary saving scheme system partnering with the National Social Security Fund in requirements analysis, design, development and testing to deployment and maintenance. The system constituted onboarding management platform, services to run standing orders and integration with the Security Fund systems.

• Together with a team from Financial Intelligence Authority – FIA and the Bank’s Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering, I led the Bank in understanding reporting requirements for suspicious and large cash transactions to design and develop a solution that generates xml transaction files that conform to FIA schema standard. This was done in tight timelines to meet set deadlines by the regulator and save the Bank from possible penalties.

• I led a process of migrating all inhouse applications and databases in an upgrade process to new server OS and underlying environment versions in order to achieve security and performance improvement.

Makerere University WIMEA-ICT, Kamplala, Uganda AUG 2016 to APRIL 2018 Masters Student and Research Assistant

• As a master’s Student and project component development Lead, I lead a team of four in the requirements collection and analysis process across four districts of Mbale, Rakai, Wakiso and Kampala in Uganda for a weather information dissemination system based on Web and USSD.

• Working with four undergraduate final year students, and in partnership with the National Meteorology Authority, I led the design and implementation process of USSD and Web based applications in C# and Dot Net which enabled local farmers access timely weather forecast information for their planting and harvesting decision making.
