PROJECT PORTFOLIO

Principal role in the solid phase synthesis of peptide agonists, antagonists, cell penetrating peptides, and conjugation of these as diagnostic agents for organics and drugs. Collaborated within cross-functional technical team to generate patent on novel Cell Penetrating Peptides for theranostics purposes.

Facilitated European launch of semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic for veterinary use (Zactran). Developed backup clinical candidate.

Assisted in the discovery, development, and phase 2 clinical trial launch of an experimental rheumatoid arthritis drug (MK-0812). Provided synthetic approach to critical heterocyclic scaffold as a clinical backup contender.

Contributed to efforts in the Cannabinoid receptor (CB1/CB2) inverse agonist and anemia (HIF-1 ) program for the purposes of pre-clinical backup. Addressed issues related to pharmacokinetics and metabolism.

Established synthetic organic chemistry work for HIV inhibitors (CCR5) and inflammation (NOS inhibitors) resulting in the preparation of broadly substituted heterocyclic scaffolds.

Preparation of targeted library and parallel synthesis protocols for potent acyl hydroxylamine enzyme inhibitors (TACE).

Co-led studies in multiple therapeutic areas including cancer, anti-infective (Macrolide, β-lactam), inflammation (NOS, CCR2, TACE), obesity (CB1 inverse agonist), anemia (HIF-1 ) and other GPCR targets (CCR3, CCR5).

AFFILIATIONS/HONORS

American Chemical Society, Division of Organic and Medicinal Chemistry

Senior and Junior Research Fellowship of Government of India.

Awards for contribution to various programs while at Merck.

VISTEERNA LLC 9/2020- Present
