EXPERIENCE Carroll Design, Westford, MA 6/2019 - Present Sr. Mechanical Engineer – Responsible for the mechanical engineering and design of various consumer and hi-tech products at this design firm. Worked closely with clients to provide support through all stages from concept to manufacturing. Utilized and built upon skills and experience listed below in other positions. Bleck Design Group, N. Chelmsford, MA 1/2017 – 4/2019 & 8/2000 – 11/2008 Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Teamed with industrial designers and other engineering disciplines in the product development of popular consumer and tech products. Responsible for all mechanical design tasks, ranging from supporting Industrial Designers with initial concepts, through testing, prototyping, documentation and overseas manufacturing support. Sr. Mechanical Engineer – Worked with Industrial Designers, RF and Electrical engineers, in the design and packaging of RF networking products. Executed the detailed mechanical design of products with heavy emphasis on ID. Responsibilities included prototyping, testing, and providing manufacturing support for overseas vendors. Project challenges included the design and implementation of thermal management solutions, weather proofing, and EMI shielding for roof mounted devices. Utilized experience in plastic injection molding, extrusions, sheet metal, and various other manufacturing methods. Acorn Product Design, Cambridge, MA 11/2015 - 6/2016 Mechanical Engineer, Contract Position – Worked on the mechanical design of products for a small engineering design firm. Projects included medical devices, consumer, and industrial products. Provided support throughout various phases of designs from conceptual work through to manufacturing of final product. Responsibilities included hands on design and testing along with maintaining requirements and expectations of the client. Utilized skills in rapid prototyping and manufacturing methods. Sr. Mechanical Engineer, Consultant – Lead mechanical role for the design of a new VoIP conference phone system for Cisco. Worked on all mechanical aspects of development from initial layouts for ID, through to full production in China at FoxConn. Provided manufacturing support for tooling, DFM reviews, managed extensive databases including documentation, tolerance analysis, and concurrent support of electrical engineering teams. Utilized and built upon skill set from previous experience, including plastic injection molding, sheet metal, all forms of rapid prototyping. Mechanical design required working closely with the ID firm Frog, and creation of a highly critical engineering database that met strict aesthetic requirements.

Tyco Fire and Protection Products, Westminster, MA 11/2010 – 11/2011 Sr. Mechanical Engineer – Implemented the design of a new Fire and Notification Device family of products. Responsible for the initial layout and development of a modular solution for audible and visual notification devices. Prototyped and tested various designs to find optimal packaging that would meet strict UL and other agency specifications. Worked with vendors in the initial tooling and pilot production. Utilization of the many product development skills and manufacturing methods listed below in past experience. Including, but not limited to injection molded plastics, sheet metal, and rapid prototyping. Farm Design Inc, Hollis, NH 11/2008 – 11/2010

Sr. Mechanical Engineer – Executed the mechanical design of various products in the medical, military, and consumer industries. Worked to industrial designs with a high sensitivity to aesthetics and ergonomics. Contributed to all stages of product development from concept to the procurement of tooling and manufacturing sources. Experience working with both off shore and domestic tooling/molding sources. Familiarity with IEC, FDA, UL standards. Mechanical Engineer, Consultant (while on furlough from Bleck Design Group) – Performed various CAD related tasks in the design and documentation of their first home coffee brewer. Helped to design and build automated test stations for the brewer. Test station was designed using 8020 aluminum extrusions and pneumatic actuated cylinders, slides and gripper devices. Used for 100% testing on all production brewers. Cannondale Corp /Quest Engineering, Fletcher, NC 4/1998 – 8/2000 Mechanical Design Engineer – Aided in the development from the ground up of a custom motorcycle racing 4 stroke engine for use in newly designed motocross bike and four- wheeler. Responsible for building and maintaining the ProE database. Designed constant mesh 5-speed transmission along with various other systems of the power plant. COMPUTER SolidWorks, PTC Creo / ProEngineer (20+ years), ID driven advanced surfacing. SKILLS PDM Workgroup, Winchill, MS Office, Windows administration and networking experience
