• Development, testing, and dose standardization of hydroponic nutrients intended for yield for optimizing growth and nutritional quality enhancement.

• Production data analysis and interpretation of trial results for improvement of quantity, quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness to generate models for plant growth, development, and yield.

• Support the development of plant propagation methods, advanced production systems, and novel horticultural practices of controlled environment cultivation.

• Operate and maintain research instrumentation and grow infrastructure. Keep a stocked, clean, and orderly research environment to promote safety and productivity.

• Supervise technical staff to assist in research efforts as needed and develop, train, and evaluate the performance of employees on a continuous basis.

• Evaluated ten soilless systems under various conditions for their performance, competence, and economic feasibility to address areas for improvement, simplification, optimization, and expansion.

• Developed and standardized tissue culture media and soilless cultivation techniques for industrially important medicinal plants like Ashwagandha, Brahmi, and Stevia.

• Installed more than fifteen hydroponic kits/systems for farmers, hobby, and urban growers and trained them for soilless cultivation.

• Contributed to the drafting of three research grant proposals, more than fifteen SOPs and R&D documents, and keeping of up-to-date lab/greenhouse record.

• Oversee the requisition of supplies, such as seeds, bio-insecticides, nutrients, lab instruments/ machines, farm tools, and stock records for soilless cultivation.

• Responsible for manpower training, hydroponic consultation, and visits to client sites.

• Report preparation for elemental analysis of harvest obtained from soilless cultivation suggesting the nutritional quality of produce.

Senior Research Fellow (DBT), 07/2018 to 01/2019 (6 Months)

Department of PMBB, COA, IGKV - Raipur, C.G., India

• Selected and narrow-down the panel of four-hundred and fifty rice germplasm to forty-six P-efficient rice germplasm based on the results of P-deficient field screening.

• Performed the field and root (rhizotron and hydroponic) phenotyping of forty-six P-efficient rice germplasm under P-sufficient and deficient condition for yield, and yield attributing traits.

• Identified the six most P-tolerant rice parent based on the results of field and root phenotyping and crossed them with popular high yielding rice cultivars to develop P-efficient high yielding segregating lines.

• Genotyped panel of forty-six P-efficient rice germplasm lines using RM (SSR) and gene-specific markers.

• Identified six-P-efficient rice lines having desired characteristics based on MAS data for comparative expression analysis.

• Isolated total RNA and miRNA from selected six rice lines and converted them into cDNA for genomic studies.

• Genomic confirmation of selected six P-efficient lines using transcriptome and miRNAs-qPCR comparative analysis.
