Life & Work Experience
Autism learning partners, Merced, CA — 2018- 2019
I worked as a behavioral technician in which I provided individualized behavioral interventions based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to individuals with autism. My responsibilities were to provide behavioral therapy with individuals in their home, implement behavior plans and accurately document data. I was also responsible for teaching communication skills, social skills, self-help skills, and play skills.
3 Wins fitness, turlock, CA — 2017
I volunteered as an exercise instructor at 3 WINS Fitness through Cal State University, Stanislaus. 3 WINS Fitness is a program in which students are able to engage with the community and provide free exercise classes. This volunteer experience provided me the opportunity to apply my degree in Kinesiology by serving the community and encouraging participants to improve their quality of life through physical activity.
UCLA Conference Center, Lake Arrowhead, CA — 2012-2014
I worked as a dining room server. My responsibilities included preparing the dining hall before each meal, setting the tables, serving a four-course meal, bussing, providing the guests drinks and cleaning the dining hall after each meal. My job required interaction with each guest in order to meet their own special needs, which helped develop my social skills and teamwork.
Thousand Pines Camp and Conference Center, Crestline, CA — 2008-2012
I served in Guest Services as a Shift Leader. A shift leader is responsible for overseeing staff and accommodating guest needs. This includes on-call assistance for guest needs, cleaning cabins and meeting spaces and providing hospitality to ensure a quality experience. During my time at Thousand Pines I was awarded Employee of the Summer two consecutive years.
Special Education Assistant at Valley of Enchantment Elementary School — 2002-2005
I worked one-on-one with students, helping with vocabulary and their weekly reading. My responsibilities included assisting the teacher with various paperwork and helping to organize the students’ work.
