EXPERIENCE
Ecolab, St Paul, MN 2019 - 2020
NorthShore Resources - Contract Programmer
Assisted on various projects by creating/modifying ADSO screens, and COBOL batch programs.
Data Retention Project – Due to Ecolab going off the mainframe in 2020, certain data must be retained for a given period. Requests by Ecolab personnel or auditors for the data may occur. Used ICETOOL on yearend files to extract data fields to create reports. Jobs are set up based on the file generation that needs to be extracted.
Deactivating Plant Locations and Division – Plant locations and divisions that have been transferred to SAP no longer needed in JCL jobs and COBOL programs. For ADSO screens, a new IDMS database record TBLENTRY was created to contain divisions that have been migrated to SAP. Screens modified to check for the division in TBLENTRY. If found, error message displayed indicating division has been migrated to SAP. This prevents users from doing any add, modify, or delete in CAS or ECL systems. Divisions are added to database record based on the wave time frame when they are installed into SAP.
Deactivating CA7 Jobs – With most business being done in SAP, most mainframe jobs no longer needed to run. Deactivated CA7 interface jobs and UC4 Atomic jobs between mainframe and SAP. Deactivated OE and GL yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily CA7 jobs.
Ecolab, St Paul, MN 2015 - 2018
Wong Consulting Contract Programmer
Assisted on various projects by creating/modifying ADSO screens, and COBOL batch programs.
Ecolab Canada Catalyst Order Interface – Created, modified, tested Cobol batch programs, JCL jobs, UC4 events/jobs, and Proterm scripts to receive net requirements from Canada SAP system that are used to create transfer orders on CAS mainframe system. Created audit report sent to supply chain users of new transfer orders created. Created new SSCC bar code shipping label when Ecolab Canada orders and receives raw materials, packaging materials and finished goods from Ecolab US.
Terra Project – Ecolab will be using Terra Technologies Demand Sensing (DS) and Multi-Enterprise Inventory Optimization (MIO) solutions, instead of ASI (American Software, Inc.) on CAS manufacturing system for Demand Planning (forecasting) to do eight weeks of forecasting on manufactured parts that includes chemical, dish machines, and equipment. Created daily CA7 job to extract open orders that will be sent thru UC4 job plan to Terra Technologies. Created Wednesday CA7 job and Friday CA7 job to extract shipping history that will be sent to Terra Technologies using UC4 job plan. Created and scheduled new edit program to receive file from Terra for the eight weeks of forecasting. Created and scheduled new IDMS program to update the first eight weeks of requirements on Ecolab part numbers that are service forecast type.
Purge records – Created on demand CA7 job to erase database records ECO-INVBIN for specific plant locations. Created quarterly CA7 job to execute on Sunday of second week for months March, June, September, and December to erase database records ECO-ASSOCIATION for specific extracted plant locations.
Kay to Mainframe Bridge – Modified parm member to include new Canadian customer prefix 8 with USA division 080. Modify COBOL program to write out USA division 080 for Canadian customer prefix 13.
US Catalyst Order to Cash (OTC) – Ecolab implementing SAP application in 2018. Interface jobs created to send data to SAP and receive data from SAP:
Order Creation Interface ECL to SAP ECC – Created CA7 hourly job to extract orders from CAS system to be sent to SAP. Orders extracted from new database SAPQUE records that are displayed on new ADSO screen SAPQ.
Order Confirmation Interface: SAP ECC to ECL – Created new CA7 daily job to receive confirmation that orders have been received into SAP. Sales order from SAP will be updated on the database SAPQUE records.
Customer Confirmation Process – Created new hourly CA7 job to create file containing records to create fax, order, and email confirmations. Job will execute new Proterm script SAPOCON to send out customer’s order confirmation thru EDI, Email, or Fax.
Purge SAPQUE records – Created daily CA7 job to purge records older than 3 months from today’s date.

Job will execute new Proterm script RLSEBPO, which will process the SAP file. The output file from the script will contain the SAP sales order and new release number against the BPO from CAS.

Application Developer
Following projects involved creating or modifying CICS programs, COBOL programs, and utilizing VSAM files.
Policy Administration Conversion involved converting mainframe auto policies to new web-based auto policy system. Updated various application systems’ CICS screens with a new policy flag to indicate when the policy will begin migration to new auto system. And, added new transaction code to indicate policy has been converted to new auto system.
Updated Coverage screen and unit tested new Low Mileage Discount date and mileage fields to allow auto policy customers a discount on vehicles that are driven less than 7,500 miles per year.
Increased CBR field from current one-character code to two-character code, on Coverage screen, to spread out CBR scores, which allows more wide ranges of auto premiums.
Added new field Occupation Discount, on Coverage screen, to give certain professional occupations a discount on auto premium, which became a selling feature for new customers, and to retain current customers.
Designed, wrote, tested Low Mileage Discount screen to show policy’s vehicle VIN, Low Mileage Discount code and discount start date from VSAM file which allows field agents to see which policies have the discount.
Wrote and tested COBOL batch extract program for GEICS (Georgia Electronics Insurance Compliance System) to extract Georgia auto policies to be sent down to Cotton States regional office. Cotton States runs their nightly batch job to process the file, and sends an updated file to Georgia DMVS to update GEICS database. Project is to cut down the rate of uninsured motorists. When requested by police, GEICS is now the only valid proof of insurance for Georgia drivers stopped in Georgia. The rate of uninsured motorists went from 15% down to 7%.
Ran acceptance batch cycle jobs for various projects to process data entry from updated online screens, and test updated batch programs to verify data has been edited correctly and processed correctly to files.
