Since November 2018 to Present

Was appointed by M/s Sun Impex,UAE as their Country Head for Tanzania & and looking after entire African operation from Dar Es Salaam,Tanzania . My main responsibilities are sourcing of pulses like Chana(Desi Chickpeas),Toor( Pigeon Peas ), Green Mung & Red Kidney beans for exports to Indian sub contitinent.

Have exported close to 11000 MT of pulses & beans in the last 2 season from east African region.

Exported 2000 MT of Tanzanian/ Uganda Sesame seeds to China, Taiwan & Vietnam

Also exploring the possibility of exporting Soybean from East African origins like Ethiopia, Malawi as well from Zambia to India and China

Also looking after marketing of entire range of flavors, Puree and food colors for food & beverages industries for Arfican Market .

Since October 2015 to October,2018

Started the independent Pulses Indenting from all origins as well sourcing of process pulses, Conventional & Organic Agro products for export, also advising on marketing strategy & planning of chain of Cold storages / Warehousing management.

Worked as consultant for complete compressive project of Pulses processing / cleaning plants for all Agro commodities.

Did import pulses & beans Brokerage trade with well known reputed suppliers of all origins with my selected processors / millers on mutual benefits of each other’s and make a long terms trust bridge between exporters and importers.

July 2013 to Sep 2015

Joined as a Manager in National Spot Exchange Ltd(Financial Technologies Group),Mumbai

Looking after sales and business development of Pulses in India. The main objective of our division was to develop an E-Auction process platform to sale/buy of pulses in physical form for the maximum benefits to the farmers & end users. Currently entire value chain of this industry is majorly dominated by Middleman and NSEL wanted to have transparent platform where end user can directly negotiate with farmers and phase-out the entire chain of middlemen. Unfortunately Exchange was stopped from working by Government on 31 July 2013 due to statutory issues

After NSEL fiasco, Management asked me to perform special duties to recover the dues from the borrowers, joined the recovery team as Manager for looking after all recoveries work from defaulting borrowers and represent in all legal related work on the behalf of company.

Feb 2012 – June 2013

Worked with Network 18 as Pulses Head for commodities news website covering International market as well as the local market. In July 2013, Management of commoditiescontrol.com web site has been changed to M/s CC Commodity Info Services.

December, 2010-February, 2012

Worked as Trader –Pulses at Tinna Viterra Trade P Ltd Joint venture between Tinna & Viterra Canada,based at Delhi . Looked after all purchase /sale of Canadian / US Peas, Red lentils and Australian Pulses like Desi Chick peas / Dun peas in Dollar terms as well local sale in Indian Rupee . Extended operation of company for local purchase for Indian Chick peas at various markets. Opened offices at all major Indian ports. I played key role in increasing trading volume of company particularly in Pulses segment in Indian market. Company had little presence in the Indian market when I joined, after my one and half years stint Company’s trading volume grown multiply. I played pivotal role building business network of company in India.

2008 – 2010

Worked as a General manager with M/s Pulses and Agro Commodities{T} Ltd,Tanzania which was a trading company,miller,estate owners. Agriculturist and representative of Glencore for East Africa. Job profile included

Export of African Pulses (whole) into India . Crop procurement of pulses directly from farmer’s even from interior’s in Tanzania.

Assisting Sales of CIS Wheat {Glencore as supplier} into East Africa an Miller’s.

Erection of Dal manufacturing plant at Arusha Tanzania . After commissioning of Dal Mill exporting our processed pulses to United State of America, Canada, United Arab emirates and United Kingdom on regular basis to various buyers as well to local east African Countries like Kenya, Uganda.

Involved in purchase of dhall mill machineries from India and as well from local area of Tanzania.

Put a Besan plant as well whole Atta chakki plant to make whole Atta for local Market as well East African Market.

Procurement of all raw pulses for processing as well for the direct export.

All Purchase of Inputs required for our Farming and their usage check regularly.

1999 - 2007

Came to Chennai at 1999 and start as a branch office for the family business and did a good volume business. Imported pulses from all origins

Have a good command on local brokers as well as various buyers across Tamilnadu for selling pulses.

Was the first person to import bulk in containers in Chennai markets.

Was the first importer to import US Green Peas in Chennai market

Did the local upcountry business for processed pulses like chana dall, red lentils, wheat, white peas, chana, mousmi chana, kabuli chana, black matpe

Have the advantage that belonging to Central Madhya Pradesh “SAGAR”, so I have the good network to get the mkt information and trend of pulses & grains as Madhya Pradesh is the major producing area in country.

Did the Indenting of pulses from all origin for local importers on regular basis

Sale of mill quality wheat from north Indian suppliers to various flour mills in Tamilnadu.

Regularly sale of imported pulses in Tamilnadu on behalf of various importers of Mumbai/Delhi .

Started a Pulses Processing unit on contract basis and process all major Pulses like Lentils, Pigeon Peas, Yellow Peas and Black Matpe.

1992 - 1999

Have been working with my family concern Sagar International and Nikraj Commodity since 1987 .We are regularly doing the imports of pulses, spices, dry fruits, wax and doing the export of processed Pulses, spices and oil seeds .

We were the one of selling agent for G.Premjee,Thailand for pulses and procurement of oilseeds on their behalf till 1997.

My responsibilities included

Achievements

Worked as a coordinator at Mumbai for G Premjee, head office Bangkok for their procurement of sesame seeds for export (we were the 1st exporters of natural sesame seeds to Egypt market in break bulk vessel from Kandla port)

Looked after all exports of Niger seeds to USA done by NDDB and NAFED as a coordinator like booking of freight and space in vessel, inspection of cargo at the time of stuffing on behalf of various USA buyers from 1994 to 1999 .

Did the export of Niger seeds on behalf of MP Oilfed and KCMF to various buyers at USA
