I am a Board-Certified Pediatrician and hold valid PALS, NRP, BLS certificates. I have over 28 years of experience in the States, I have an excellent experience in intubation, mechanical ventilation, care of sick newborns, casting, splinting, IV placement for hydration and IV medication, suturing, stapling, and use of dermabond, I&D of abscess, wart removal, and excision of ingrown toenail, etc.. I had my own private practice in upstate NY, with over 4300 active patient charts. it was a comprehensive practice where I did all procedures short of intubation and mechanical ventilation. I had to close my practice in 2010 after the recession which negatively impacted all small businesses in the States; I therefore sought employment overseas. I had an opportunity for overseas experience at Saad Specialist Hospital (SSH) - Al Khobar, KSA. I was the deputy chief of Pediatrics at Saad Specialist Hospital (SSH) which is a tertiary care, referral medical center, and multispecialty clinic located in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia. The department of Pediatrics consists of 37–bed general Pediatric ward, 19-bed Oncology/Pediatric surgery ward, 14-bed Long Ter Care ward, 22-bed Pediatric ICU, 10-bed Pediatric ED, level 3 NICU with 31 incubators, and 19 ventilators, and 21-bed level 2 nursery. We had an average of 4000 deliveries per year. There were 52 pediatric consultants and specialists. All consultants are American board certified or hold the British MRCPCH. SSH is accredited by JCI, affiliated with CAP (College of American Pathologist), associated member of the American Hospital Association, and American Association of blood banks. As a consultant pediatrician, I had a full clinic schedule 6 days a week and took calls once a week. As deputy chief, my main duties included, but not limited to, interviewing new candidates; analyzing the department productivity and budget on monthly basis, evaluate physicians’ performance, participate in monthly M&M meetings, as well as department meetings, motivate and participate in the department CME courses, investigate, and arbitrate patients’ complaints, and concerns. I reviewed and updated clinical pathways for pediatric inpatient wards and helped the Chief to organize a system to expedite smooth flow of patients in the pediatric clinic. Throughout this period at SSH, I encountered varied pathology far beyond what we usually come across in the western hemisphere. I was exposed to diverse cultures, nationalities, and languages, which helped me to sharpen my communication, diagnostic, and management skills. 2

I was fortunate to meet and marry an Egyptian Pediatric Neurologist, we relocated to the States in 2013. My wife had to sit for the USMLE and redo training again in order to be certified in the States. During this period, I accepted only locum jobs to be close to her during her training. She finished her Child neurology Fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center- Dallas, June 2020, she recently passed the Child Neurology board exam and started Clinical Neurophysiology/ Epilepsy fellowship at University of Rochester, NY.

I’m looking forward to securing a permanent position in Pediatrics either a Hospitalist or traditional practice with outpatient and inpatient duties. Positions Held
