Project Description Tractor Trolleys are very popular and cheaper mode of goods transport in rural as well as urban area. Trolleys are widely used for transporting agriculture product, building construction material and industrial equipment. The main requirements of trolley manufacturing are high performance, easy to maintain, longer working life and robust construction.

If the chassis design is not proper and excess material is used to overcome the failure, the self-weights of the chassis get increases and capacity of the trolley get decreases. The existing trolley chassis designed by industry uses ‘C’ Cross section and the material used is mild steel with 248 MPa yield strength with the application of 6 Tonne capacity. By keeping the material and dimension similar and using ‘I’ cross section area instead of ‘C’ resulted in more safer stresses than ‘C’ and reduction in weight.

In this project work, the trailer chassis model will design using 3D modeling software CATIA. The designed 3D model is imported into FEA software Ansys. On imported 3D model the pre-processed, post-processed and solving will perform in FEA software Ansys.

The analysis will be carried out for different cross sections with the selected materials and compare the Ansys results with theoretical results for the optimal design configuration of tractor trolley chassis based on thickness. Profile
