HBE CORPORATION, INC. 1997 to 1999
Multi-million dollar design-build firm involved in building hospitals, credit unions and hotels for the Adam’s Mark Hotel chain.
General Superintendent
Managed and directed all aspects of project coordination for the construction of the Adam’s Mark Hotel Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. This project was 3 stories consisting of 2 ballrooms, pre-convene areas, full major kitchen for each ballroom (1st and 2nd floors) plus a concrete parking garage for 450 cars. Each floor had 100,000 sq. ft. This project was built in 12 months. Cost of this project was $45 million dollars. As a design-build contractor, I had to interface with architects, engineers, city officials, and the owner. HBE Corp. had all parties in-house except for city officals.
• This project was from the ground up and was a very difficult and complex .
• During construction I coordinated 6 supt.’s/asst. supt.’s, and 350-400 people per day on an average day.
• One of the main features of this project was that the Grand Ballroom on the 2nd floor had the honor of being the largest in the State of Texas at 41,000 sq. ft.
• Implementing and enforcing all safety requirements of all personnel on this project. This also included the coordination with the traffic around the project, which was a major logistics undertaking and very complex.
