QC Engineer

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES – COMMON IN ALL FIELDS

Analyzing existing processes / procedures, P&ID, Isometric drawings, part components drawings, raw materials, documents as per the specification and standards.

Inspection of incoming raw materials and reviewing of Test Certificates (TC) of those materials according to relevant specification, standards and codes.

Witnessing Vacuum box test, oil chalk test, leaks test for oil Storage tank as per the API 650.

Familiar with the fabrication requirements of cladded pipe, Inconel, Carbon steel, Low Temperature

Carbon Steel, Stainless steel etc…

Familiar with the Fabrication and welding of Clean Class piping

Witnessing Roughness test, tape test etc for the clean class piping

Welding Process: SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, ORBITAL welding

Various Pipeline activities like Welding Procedure Qualification mainline Welding, Tie-In DIA (3’’ TO 48’’) (Road, River and Canal) etc.

Carried out site walk inspection for the hydro test (Tankages) and raising before and after hydro test punch points.

Carried out line walk inspection for the product pipe line and raising before and after hydro test punch point.

Witnessing hydrostatic test, holiday test, pneumatic test, leak test for Tank, Vessels, Boiler Steam drum & power piping,

Coordinating with the client /concerned department for Technical Queries (TQ) and resolving issues

Ensure that all Inspection works are strictly adhered to procedures

Controlling the quality of products and maintaining records as per QP / ITP

Conducting of Internal Audit and Management Review Meetings on Regular basis as an Management representative

Inspection of installed system (Static/Rotary/Structures) based on check advice intimation and performing surveillance

Audit. Reporting any discrepancies as per defined procedures and to ensure that corrective action has been carried out.

Field Activities

Review of Method Statement, Quality Control Procedures and Pre-Qualification (PQ) documents of vendor as per specification.

Inspecting alignment of pipe, valves and other components as per P & ID for both AG & UG Pipes.

Witnessing pre commissioning activities such as flushing and air blowing.

Inspecting preassembled structure and assembled structure as per specification and drawings. Ensuring all the joining process in structure such as welding, bolting with level and plumpness.

Inspection of foundation - pad plate, anchor bolt projections are in accordance with client’s specification and respected drawing.

Inspection of Equipment alignment, cantering, orientation with respect to given drawings and specification

Inspection of preservation of equipment according to the TDS / specification.

Carrying out Final Inspection / Walk Through prior to mechanical clearance

Maintaining various records pertaining to piping like Quality Verification Documents (QVD) prior to Mechanical completion.

Execute the assigned activities in accordance with Best practices and quality standards established with the section, the job requirements, the time schedule and following the instructions given by the project leads.

Shop Activities

Inspecting Various Boiler Components like Boiler External Piping, Pressure parts and Non Pressure Parts elements related to power generation.

Inspecting Components like Beam, Economizer Coil, Boiler Panels, Superheated Coils, Heat Exchanger, reactor, Bank Tubes, Various piping elements related to power generation.

Monitoring each stage of Boiler Parts fabrication at shop

Liaising with Authorized Inspector from various inspection agencies such as LRA, IBR, BV, TPL etc and customers / clients for job clearance.

Inspection of surface preparation and primer coating prior to painting

Monitor the atmospheric temperature and Relative humidity and carried out coating in the specified manner and to ensure the quality of coating

Checking WFT of Coating and DFT of finished coat products.

Carrying out Final Inspection of the product before dispatch

Third Party Activities

Carrying out Calibration of Pressure, Temperature, Metrological Instruments, electrical and electronic measuring instruments using Multi product Calibrator, Advanced Modular calibrator.

Inspecting lifting tools such as shackles, hooks, slings, pulleys etc. Coordinating for Inspection, NDT and calibration works to be performed.

Interacting with the client for Technical Queries and resolving issues and ensuring all Inspection works are strictly adhered to procedures. Reviewing of all documents as per QP and client specification

Issuing Non Conformity Report with its preventive and corrective action to the job violating quality requirements. Maintaining Inspection Report, Records & Summary.

Preparation and Submission of Final delivery documents for the Projects
