Clinical Innovations and Projects

InteRN Mentorship Program: Cofounded the "InteRN Mentorship Program" in the emergency room at BIDMC. The transition from medical school to residency is a considerable adjustment for new interns. New responsibilities combined with inexperience can be stressful. In the emergency department in particular, teamwork is crucial to providing optimal patient care. Interns must learn to work with all members of the team and communicate effectively, particularly with nursing colleagues who can be very helpful in guiding new interns. A nursing-intern mentorship program has helped improve the transition to residency for interns and improve overall patient care by promoting a collaborative intraprofessional environment built on teamwork and camaraderie.
