Objective

I previously worked as an ER nurse in a very fast paced emergency room for nearly 8 years at Piedmont Henry Hospital. I have worked for the past 3 years in primary care at Khair Family Practice as a Primary Care Provider. I have been seeing many of my patients virtually through televisits since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. I love being a Nurse Practitioner and really enjoy helping others achieve optimal health.

Skills & Abilities
ER, TEAM LEADER JULY 2011- 2017
At the hospital I used to work at, the acute ER is divided between two pods. The charge nurse is in charge of the entire ER, and at one time, we had a team leader for each pod that helped coordinate care. I frequently worked as team leader when this position was available, often two of my three shifts. Piedmont Henry Hospital has now taken this role and changed it to another floor nurse position, lowering the nurse-patient ratio.
ER, PRECEPTOR JULY 2011- 2017
I have been a preceptor for new orientees at Piedmont Henry Hospital for the last 6 years. I used to frequently precept and love being able to teach others. I am very willing to teach others the things I have learned during my ER experience.
ER, CHARGE NURSE APRIL 2015- 2017
Prior to beginning my nurse practitioner program, I became a relief charge nurse in the ER I used work in at Piedmont Henry Hospital. Being charge nurse in this ER can be stressful, as it is a very busy 50 + bed ER. This job requires the use of thorough assessment and critical thinking skills in order to place the sickest and most critical patients into rooms first. It really helped me grow my leadership skills exponentially.

CURRENT JOB
I currently work full time as a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner at Khair Family Practice in Stockbridge, Ga. I have been there since November 2017 and thoroughly enjoy my job and those I work with. We treat patients throughout the lifespan, but treat mostly adult patients. We have many elderly patients with many complicated, chronic health conditions. We also do plenty of sick visits and same day visits, and I am very comfortable with urgent care complaints. Since the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic, we have been doing televisits for all patients with respiratory complaints. I am very comfortable with telehealth and feel that it is going to play a large role in urgent care/sick visits in the future. I love my job very much, but my husband and I are looking to relocate soon. This job looked like a good fit and I would love the opportunity.
