(January 2017 – August 2019)
Delivery Captain: (May 2019 - August 2019)
I was responsible for the delivery of purchased boats. My job included supervision of Dockhands who assisted in boat preparation. I also interacted with the various departments of the marina (Sales, Service, and Lakeside) to ensure boats were clean, rigged, lake tested, fueled, and placed in the water on the delivery date. Once the customer arrived, I conducted the final overview and test drive of the boat to insure the customer was happy with their newly purchased vessel.
Rental Boat Captain: (June 2018 - August 2018)
As Boat Captain, I was in charge of the rental boat fleet. This job included managing the upkeep of all rental boats. My role insured boats were cleaned, fueled, had all required safety equipment properly stowed, and ready for the customer. I also oriented the customer with the operation and safety requirements of the vessel they chose to rent.
Dockhand: (January 2017 - August 2017)
As a Dockhand, I was in charge of assisting customers with their vessel. This included boat maintenance and care activities. Also, I assisted moving vessels to and from the storage facility and placing vessels in and out of the water using a forklift and trolley.
EDUCATION
B.S. Science of Engineering (Environmental) – Mercer University (expected date of graduation: Spring 2021)
Mercer on Mission (Dominican Republic Summer 2018):
-Conducted indoor air quality surveys and data collection to measure the amount of air particle pollution within kitchens used by the native population in the El Cercado area.
-Performed bacteria research, including measuring bacteria growth from multiple water sources in town and in some local mountain villages' spring boxes. Used membrane filtration to observe and count the types of bacteria found in collected water samples.
