Project: SET-TOP BOX Testing

Position: Engineer.II.Software/QA Engineering

Responsibilities:

●Manual testing of Cisco cable modem SET-TOP BOX that includes video testing, user interface, and remote.

●To report identified bugs in the test management tool.

●To create test cases for new releases and new features.

●Manual validation of problems reported during the test cycle and also validate the fix of the same.

●Send a weekly status report to the manager.

Position: Senior Test Engineer

Responsibilities:

●Bringing up Layer 2 and Security testbed for automation regression.

●To own L2 setup and execution of automation regression testing on different Layer 2 protocols like VLAN, STP, RSTP, LACP.

●To script test cases in TCL to be incorporated into the automation regression test suite.

●Manual validation of Problem Report (PR) identified in Layer 2 protocols.

●Provide support by troubleshooting any setup issues or script issues experienced during regression.

●Executing Build Sanity test suite for all 6x release.

●To collect metrics on automation regression status from team members to provide input for the weekly status call.

●To track the bugs/problem report (PR) raised during automation regression / manual testing through Siebel.

●Mentoring and sharing knowledge to junior engineers on technical as well as on assigned regression tasks.

Responsibilities:

●Black box testing of Yahoo Desktop Search application.

●Creating and Execution of Test cases for Yahoo Desktop Search.

●Reporting the product defects using the Bug tracking tool (Bugzilla).

●Designing and creating the distributable package for Yahoo Desktop Search using Install shield 10.X.

●Unit testing of the package created using Install Shield.

●Researching different installer tools for better efficiency and a low distributable size.

●Coordinate with the QA team to fix installer bugs.

●Maintenance of the continuous build process using the cruise controller.

Responsibilities:

●Testing the Stata Labs product in and out to identify major bugs.

●Provide Email support for Stata Labs, which involved Bloomba – Stata Labs Email program and SAproxy Pro – Anti-Spam program.

●Simulate and test customers’ work environment, and provide solutions within a minimum resolution time.

Achievements:

As recognition of my quality of Technical Support, I was given more responsibility for handling the main Bloomba product support.

Position: Application Engineer (Level 1 Technical Support Engineer)

Responsibilities:

●Configure and simulate VLAN network as per customer scenario, to test and resolve customer issues.

●Testing STP in switches, to help customers configure and resolve STP related issues.

●Provide technical support for SMC layer 2 switches.

●Configuring VLAN network setup in the LAB using customer premises scenario to provide support on Layer2 switches.

●Testing and Configuring Modem as PPPoE Client, DHCP Client.

●Provide Technical support for SMC products, which involved broadband routers, wireless routers, wireless access points, unmanaged switches.

●Configured special applications like VPN, FTP, Web Server, and Online gaming, etc on the customer side routers through Remote WAN management.
