Title 1: SINTERING OF COPPER- ZIRCONIUM DI-BORIDE (Cu-ZrB2 ) COMPOSITE Title 2: DIFFUSION BONDING OF ALUMINUM WITH TITANIUM Abstract : The work aims at experimental investigation of Copper-Zirconium Di-Boride of metal matrix composites by addition of 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 wt% ZrB2 with copper in different proportions. The powders were planetary ball milled for 30 minutes with 200 rpm and compacted at 250 MPa load. Sintering was carried at 900 C for 4 hours under Argon atmosphere at a heating rate of 10 C/min in tubular furnace. Relative density in excess of 80% were obtained for all compositions Optical micrographs reveals that the distribution of ZrB2 particles on Cu matrix increases by increasing percentage of ZrB2 . Abstract :Aluminum and Titanium are considered as light weight materials with good strength for several structural applications at low and moderate temperatures. On the other hand, inter-metallic phase between Titanium and Aluminum are expected to exhibit high temperature stability with superior strengths. In the present study 0.13mm sheets of Titanium and 0.5 mm sheets of Aluminum have bonded by using moderate pressures to result in diffusion of Al and Ti at the interface for different times upto 50hrs at 600 C.
Title 3: TENSILE BEHAVIOR OF FRICTION STIR WELDED AL 6061 WITH INCORPORATED CuO NAN- PARTICLES Abstract : FSW of Aluminum alloys have increasingly become common in the current times. In order to increase the strength and hardness, various parameters from micro to nano are incorporated in the weld joint by drilling holes or by groves at the joint. In the present study CuO nano-particles prepared by using novel Sol-gel method of size 40-200nm were incorporated in the joint. And observed its tensile propertiesusing UTM. Projects
