● Learning Architect • Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Feb 2019 – Oct 2020 As a learning architect, I worked primarily in curriculum design and product development for both digital and physical educational products, working within the agile development model in conjunction with design thinking. I managed the audio recording for over 70 new pieces of literature we added to our curriculum for grades 6-12 and delivered monthly articles for a subscription service named FYI which correlated to units in our textbook. I also wrote multiple pieces for our program including poetry, fiction, and essays for sample texts as well as continuously conducted research to stay abreast of trends in education and what teachers needed in their classroom for student success.
● ELA Teacher • Harmony Public Schools • 2015 – Feb 2019 Taught grades 6-12 in Pre AP, Ap, and on-level English, debate, and reading intervention. Continually passed +71% of students from the STAAR test year over year. Hosted professional authors, in class debates between scholars, and hosted a lawyer who represented a client in the Masterpiece Cake Shop Supreme court case for students to pose questions to as we studied the case in class.
● Professional poet • Typewriter Rodeo • 2016 – present For over four years I’ve written poetry at a professional level with Typewriter Rodeo as we’ve written for library openings, company galas, weddings, writer’s workshops, literary and book fairs, and much more.
● ELA Teacher • Prestonwood Christian academy • 2014 – 2015 Taught 11th and 12th grade on-level English literature. Passed 98% of students with a 100% college acceptance rate.
● ELA Teacher • Dallas Independent School District • 2012 -2014 Taught grades 9-12 in AP, Pre-Ap, and on-level English literature. Had a +74% passing rate on the STAAR test, which included many English language learners and students who speak English as a second language.

Earned my series 66 and series 7 licenses and sold a range of financial products to meet client needs from mutual funds, to ETFs, to annuities, to whole and term life products, IRA’s (both traditional and Roth), 401(k)’s, 403(b)’s, 457’s, and much more. Managed millions of dollars in retirement savings for clients.

I have 10 years of improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy experience performing in multiple festivals all over the country including the Dallas Comedy Festival in 2014 and 2015, Out of Bounds festival in 2018, and The Pittsburgh Comedy Festival as well as performing hundreds of shows on comedy stages in Texas. For three years I’ve hosted a weekly, online talk show called “Bath Cast” on Twitch via Fallout Theater in Austin, and in 2019 was nominated for a B Iden Payne award for “Best New Troupe” for my improv troupe, 2XS. Also, in my spare time I write and record my own music under the moniker “Brown Bear Looking Glass,” and in 2019 I finished my full-length, 14-track LP, “Things Rank and Gross in Nature” which is available for purchase on Bandcamp. Before the pandemic, I regularly performed my music in various Austin venues.
