Enrolled in a semester long voluntary independent research project to discover the Petrology and Mineralogy of an unknown sediment sample

Using GLP and GMP to convert the unknown sample into a powdered state and ultimately into a glass bead for cross polarized microscopic analysis by using a hydraulic press as well as a melting chamber. using cross polarized light techniques, identifying crystalline structures, and knowledge of minerals to identify minerology as well as petrology of the sediment.

Independently Researched the geological history of the Chaco Arroyo by using GIS software Envi 5.1

Created multiple datasets using input band and PC band combinations to analyze and highlight sedimental, geological, and alluvial features.

Constructed a density chart by assigning a unique to color to multiple sets of wavelengths to show the abundance of minerals present in the Chaco Arroyo.
