ACADEMIC PROJECTS

B.TECH THESIS: Stabalisation of black cotton soil using terrasil

(Dec 2017 – May 2018)

Black cotton soils are major problematic soils of some tropical countries especially in Africa and India. They are poor materials by temperate zone standards and difficult to use for road and air field construction because they are often expansive due to the presence of large percentages of expansive clay minerals, i.e. montmorillonite.

Terrasil:-Terrasil is a nano chemical and nanotechnology-based product manufactured by Zydex Industries Ltd, Bangalore, India. Terrasil is water soluble, ultraviolet and heat stable, reactive soil modifier to waterproof soil subgrade. It also reduces water permeability and maintains breathability of soil layer.

Extensive survey project conducted at KAIWARA, BANGALORE (Feb 2018)

Carried out 5 different projects in 6 days: New tank project, Old tank project, Highway project, Public Health Engineering and New canal project.

Applied survey techniques on site and collected relevant data.

Learned to handle Total station.

The data collected was further processed using AutoCAD.

Structural design analysis for each of the project was done. Case study on TERI (GREEN BUILDING)
