MANAGE AND PROVIDE PATIENT CARE while promoting patient health and wellness by assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating appropriate patient care in the Emergency and Urgent care setting. Duties included but not limited to the treatment of acute illnesses, minor trauma and acute exacerbation of chronic disease.

CLINICAL PRECEPTOR (January 2006-July 2020) guiding Nurse Practitioner Students (Family, Geriatric and Acute Care) to put theory into practice.

KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS include the below hospital privileges

1.Obtain histories and perform physical ages 16+

2.Order appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, interpret the results, devise treatment plans and treat appropriately

3.Consult other medical services such as internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, oncology, dermatology for continuity of care beyond the Emergency Department

4.Perform procedures such as Incision and Drainage of abscesses, suturing minor lacerations, removal of foreign bodies (soft tissue, ears, vagina), excision of avulsed nails, pelvic examinations and applying orthopedic splints.

5.Accurately complete all necessary charting according to hospital/department protocols in a timely manner

6.Obtain referrals for patients at discharge
