My most recent IT position was with a large multichannel communication company, RR Donnelley, which was based out of Thurmont, MD. In this role I served as an Infrastructure Technician at a critical plant that has same day service level customer agreements and had to maintain high production availability. The bulleted items below highlight some of my activities that I believe outline experience necessary for the posted position:

Provided IT technical support and expertise including, but not limited to, workstation, server, LAN, application, and security for multiple large manufacturing and financial facilities through the Northeast corridor

Helped ensure business productivity and continuity through 24/7 on-call with proper incident severity, change management implementation, and asset reporting/tracking through ServiceNow.

Worked and assisted local manufacturing leadership to improve technology footprint, streamline processing, and improve digital communication / collaboration within the Thurmont, MD facility.

Met with clients and local leadership to communicate IT security standards explaining compliance for multiple regulations (PCI, HIPAA, SOC2+). Where necessary, I engaged our off-site IT governance security team and helped implement any proper changes.

Assisted Infrastructure technicians at sister location in Logan, UT to align our technology footprint and practices for business continuity purposes.

Aside from the items listed above, I have first-hand technical experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows workstations, working with ISPs network tests and turn-ups, and configuring MX records for email servers. I served as a Network Engineer for a small company based out of Rockville, MD where I was given the opportunity to install and configure small office networks. The combination of servicing small businesses as well as a large corporation has given me a range of skills that have made me adaptable, diverse, and highly motivated.

I recently switched careers and joined a longtime family friend’s small company as a metal fabrication estimator. Within this role I wear many hats with one being the responsibility of their technology advancements and direction. Within the first few months we have moved to a hybrid cloud environment utilizing Microsoft 365 functionality (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and Synology NAS for directory service authentication, local storage, and active backup of our Microsoft 365 environment. I took this opportunity to welcome a new challenge, however my passion is and has been within the IT sector.
