Throughout my school year at USC and SAIC, I have generated creativity by inventively embracing both architectural and artistic venues. At HLW and Jacobs, I have developed my practical and design expertise through various types of projects. My resume and portfolio best express my diverse experience along with my ability to interweave architecture and art.
At HLW, I have contributed to modeling and producing construction documents in Revit for different scaled projects. For big projects like Google, YouTube headquarter, Netflix, and Union Bank, I took responsibility for various parts of a drawing set such as code sheets, construction plans, elevations, restrooms, pantry, stair, etc. On small projects, I produced an entire drawing set with minor assistance from a project manager. Additionally, through a couple of small projects with tight deadlines, I have shown my ability to coordinate consultants, manage team members, and assign tasks by prioritizing deliverables to completion. In addition to practical aspects, I have also developed design abilities through tenant improvement projects. For example, on a Procore Texas interior renovation project, I provided design ideas and prepared renderings and a finishes and furniture package. During the time at Jacobs, I have engaged in a multidisciplinary environment, mixed with close interaction. By providing both architectural and engineering supports, I learned knowledge from different fields and proactively collaborated with a diverse set of professionals in order to achieve an integrated delivery. To illustrate, I gained an understanding of mechanical systems by drafting diagrams in AutoCAD. Additionally, experience with data center projects improved my ability to select an optimal location by analyzing site resources and producing test fits through the collaboration with an electrical engineer. In addition, my involvement with various design projects has elevated both of my practical expertise and aesthetic creativity. I designed massing and façade for different projects such as Huawei data center and Merck research laboratory. The most exciting experience was designing an auditorium in Merck research laboratory building. With full responsibility for drawings, I researched ideal seating arrangements and view angles. For the interior space, among design options presented by another senior designer and me, mine was most admired and as a result, was selected by the client. I am eager to deliver and apply all qualities I have earned from HLW and Jacobs into your projects as a successful candidate for this position. Among my non-professional diverse experiences, I worked as a research assistant, which developed and strengthened my communication and collaboration skills. In detail, I assisted in government related surveys for Korean tourism and Korean medical treatments by personally interacting with 25-30 different individuals from all over the world every day. With my effort to produce best communicative strategies, my team delivered 1.5 times more research results than any other teams.
