Work Summary
Have successfully managed the operations, repair and maintenance work of a wide range of machinery, systems and equipment. Possesses sound exposure in planning the cost of dry docking of ships, takeovers and various other aspects of ship maintenance and repairs.
Shore Experience:
• Presently working as Senior Technical Superintendent with Dania Ship management bulk A/s (Vships), Mumbai from March 2018. Looking after 5 geared bulk vessels (geared) DWT ranging from 28000 to 60000 with MAN B&W MC and ME engines.
• Worked with Clipper Fleet Management (Copenhagen based) as Technical Superintendent from Jan 2016 to Feb 2018. Looked after 5 geared bulk vessels (geared) DWT ranging from 28000 to 35000 with MAN B&W MC and ME engines.
• Worked as Technical Superintendent with ASP ship Management, Mumbai, Australia based ship management for one year. Looked after 5 Feeder vessels, of around 2000 TEU, geared vessels.
• Worked as Freelancer for condition surveys/Pre-purchase inspection for OSV/Tanker/Bulk Carrier/Take over vessels for change of owner/management/Demolition etc., Also successfully able to perform re-activation of vessel.
• Aug’10 – April ’11 worked with Ocean Sparkle Ltd, Dahej, Gujrat on shore as Technical Manager, looked after 6 mooring tug boats.
• In 2014, During leave time from sailing, worked from Kolkata with Far east ship management, Hongkong, as technical superintendent looked after Three product tankers trading on Indian coast for one year. Dry Docking Experience:
So far I have completed docking (5 yrs, 10yr and 15yrs special survey) of 9 bulk vessels and 1 RoRo vessel independently with docking period of 14-29 days for each vessel in Turkey and China mostly. Six vessels was installed with Ballast water treatment plant from Techross and Alfa Laval.
Academic Details
• BE (Marine 4 years) from MERI (Formerly DMET), Kolkata in 2005, Holding MEO Class II license from MMD Mumbai, India.
• Secondary and Higher Secondary completed from Lucknow, India in 1997 and 1999 respectively. Sea Experience:
• Apr’12 -Nov' 14 with A.P. Moller Maersk Shipping Co., at sea on ship.
• May’11-Nov’11 with Mediterranean Shipping Co., at sea on ship.
• Jan’08-July’10 with Anglo Eastern Shipping Company, at sea on ship. I was assigned to serve on ULCC for 4 months in my second contract.
• Feb’06-Sep’06 with Fleet Management Shipping Co., at sea on ship. During sailing period, I was involved in many dry dockings at places like Turkey, China and Durban. Job done: Dry docking preparations/specifications before docking, Material preparations, Documents preparations, Job planning from crew and yard side.
Few steel renewal in Ballast tank, Hull treatment, 5 Cargo Holds treatment, Cargo crane repair and maintenance, Ballast water plant- Installation and testing(voluntarily done by owners), Main Engine complete overhaul, AEs Complete overhaul, 5,10,15 yearly Class surveys etc and other dry docking routines jobs.
