Design and Development of the Solar Powered Electric Rickshaw (Aug 2020 - Present) Team Size: 10
Brief Description: Designing of a Solar Powered Electric 3-wheeled, suitable for urban Indian conditions, with a modular frame design and increased roof area for solar panel fitting. Individual Role:
Designing MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controller to extract maximum power from the Sun
3D Modelling and FEA of chassis and the components
Preparing report on performance and cost analysis of Electric Rickshaw Honeycomb Core Composites in Aircraft Applications: FEA & Analytical Modeling (Jan-May 2020) Brief Description: Modeling of Honeycomb structures was completed, using Ansys Composite PrePost. Mechanical and dynamic aspects were accomplished using the same software. Effect of lamina orientation on Honeycomb and Normal core was observed through simulation. A broad comparison was achieved between normal and honeycomb core composites.
Dry Machining using Solid Lubricant (Sep 2019 - Feb 2020) Team Size: 6
Brief Description: To eliminate hazardous cutting fluids during machining, researchers tried machining using solid or fluid lubricants. Group chose a triangular insert and drilled micro holes on edges and surfaces. MoS2 was filled to lubricate the surfaces while using this tool for machining. Results could explain why dry machining is advantageous over normal machining.
Individual Role:
Responsible for operating CNC using G-codes and collecting data and plotted graphs using MATLAB
Wrote methodology and conclusion of the report
Design of Box Transport Mechanism (Aug-Dec 2019)
Team Size: 4
Brief Description: Designed a mechanism for small scale industries that could be used to transport less weighing parts from one place to another. One could even customize it according to their size of transporting items. This process was effective in terms of time and money. Individual Role:
Designed and simulated the mechanism using NX and Ansys
Used Grashof’s method to find degree of freedom for finding the most feasible mechanism Performance & Emission Evaluation of Gasoline with Different Fuels & Varying Load (Feb-Apr 2019) Team Size: 5
Brief Description: Created a blend of Ethanol and turpentine oil in different ratios and experimentally analyzed the emissions. As a result to find the best alternate characteristics graph between emissions and varying load using different blends with different ratios of gasoline, turpentine and ethanol. Individual Role:
Undertook research work to find out the list of alternate fuels that could be used
Tested the emissions along with one other team member
Plotted graphs and demonstrated these in the report and presentations TECHNICAL SKILLS
