COURSE PROJECTS
Spatial Analysis and Geospatial measurement techniques May 2020
Miami, FL
Analyzing the Length of the Coastline of South Florida using Point to Area Transformation:
During this project, I implemented fractal dimension of 3 sub-areas in southern Florida. The Fractal dimension has relationship to the roughness of the coastline.
Modeling of Surfaces: Deterministic and Geostatistical techniques:
Upon the completion of this project, I grasped the concepts of observing and implementing the range of deterministic and geospatial interpolation methods to topographic and water table modeling.
Total Station Survey:
For this activity, I learned about how to set up and use a total station, collect data, plot the data on a satellite image, and analyze the accuracy and precision of the measurements around the university campus.
GPS + RTK:
Learn to setup base station and operate GPS rover to conduct RTK survey. Downloaded the measurements. Conducted quantitively analysis of the measurements to calculate and understand precision and accuracy of the measurements. And finally generate a contour map of the elevation in the study area utilizing ArcMap.
