Responsibilities include responding to building request, including temperature adjustments, electrical. Working in government office building of a million square feet, responding to all building related request, to include, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing request. Other responsibilities include nightly adjustments of building chilled water and heating converter. Monitor the EMS system making adjustments as necessary and checking building temperatures. Oversee and escort contractors as needed. Perform repair/preventive maintenance on a variety of equipments. Participated in several special projects in the building, changing relief values on the steam systems, electrical projects of installing new circuit breakers. Install, services and repairs environmental-control systems in residences, department stores, office buildings and other commercial establishments, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout. Mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications. Installs evaporator unit in chassis or in air duct system, using hand tools. Joins tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units by means of sleeves, couplings or unions, and solder joints, using torch, forming complete circuit for refrigerant. Installs expansion and discharge valves in circuit. Connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connect control panels to power source. Injects small amount of refrigerant into compressor to test systems and adds Freon gas to build up prescribed operating pressure. Maintenance Mechanic, Vornado CES, Arlington, VA April 2004 -May 2008 Work at a 500,000 square foot complex which includes portions of residential, retail and commercial. Troubleshoot electrical circuits to include replacing outlets and circuit breakers. Responsibilities include service and maintenance of several air handlers with 5 to 10 ton compressors, also perimeter heat pumps; replacement of defective parts on such units including replacement of compressors. Other duties require 7 days of after hour on call and weekend coverage. Duties also consist of following a preventive maintenance program that is in place; respond to daily work requests from tenants, and any special requests from tenants, Property Manager or Chief Engineer. Lead Engineer, George S. Hall, Washington, DC Dec. 2001 - April 2004 Sole engineer for a 12 story 225,000 square foot office building. Required to adhere to a strict maintenance program; responded to all requests coming into the call center by tenants; adhered to special instructions given by Property Manager regarding contract work and special tenant requests. Overall responsibilities included the operation of two 220 ton chillers; service heat pumps to include replacement of compressor, reversing valves and fan motors. Duties also included ordering parts and supplies; attending weekly meetings with Property Manager and Operations Managers, preparing weekly reports and keeping log of all daily activities; insured proper startup of building equipment; and performing major projects that were supervised, such as the removal and installation of a new cooling tower and two tenant renovations. Responsibilities also included being available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Lead Engineer, BTE, Greenbelt, MD Dec. 2000-Dec. 2001 Duties included being responsible for a 80,000 square foot office building and being directly involved with every aspect of the building operation. Worked closely with property manager on the yearly budget and all bid jobs; performed all required maintenance on building equipment which included four 25-30 Trane Rooftops Package Units with a VAV system with pneumatic controls – building was operated by an EMS System. Other duties included supervising contractors; responding to tenant request; being on-call 24 hours a day; giving written reports of all weekly activities including all service calls, projects and on-going budget reports.

HVAC/R Maintenance Technician, Marriot, Inc., Bethesda, MD _ June 1996 – Dec. 2000 Performed daily maintenance and service calls on a variety of mechanical equipment including water cooled 2 1/5 – 5 ton heat pumps such as walk-in refrigerators and freezers, Liberit computer room 15 ton air conditioning units and Trane 7-10 ton glycol cooled air conditioning units. Duties also included monitoring EMS for a 880,000 square foot office building; start up and shut down of required chillers, gas fired absorption chillers and ice plant. Building Engineer, Moore & Associates, Inc., Rockville, MD Aug. 1991 - Jun. 1996 Sole engineer providing daily maintenance of 166,000 square foot office building that operated off an EMS with VAV system, pneumatic controls and had 19 self-contained units of 20-30 ton capacity. Duties also included being responsible for purchase orders, supply status, and keeping track of all contract work. Established a preventive maintenance program and color coded condenser pipe system that was utilized on a daily basis. Supervised two maintenance porters. Assistant Engineer, Centennial Development Corporation, Reston, VA Oct. 1988 – Aug. 1991 Assisted building engineer in daily operation of five office buildings consisting of 528,000 square feet. Provided technical assistance to building engineer for technical maintenance. Coordinated maintenance activities in the absence of the Building Engineer. Provided direction for apprentice engineers, maintenance staff and housekeeping. Interacted with outside contractors for major construction projects, maintained daily maintenance logs, preventative maintenance program and the operation of the Control Access Systems. Skills obtained from position include comprehension of blue prints, management and HVAC troubleshooting. Assisted with environment control HVAC in four buildings of the Commerce Development Park.
