Project Details

Ph.D. Research work- An Investigation on surface generation in abrasive slurry jet polishing of glass, (2014-2020), Guide(s): Prof L.Vijayaraghavan, and Dr.N.Arunachalam, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Madras.

Contributions

A 3-axis Abrasive slurry jet polishing setup was fabricated

Surface generation in abrasive slurry jet polishing of glass with respect to process parameters were investigated

Surface topography transformation with respect to time in abrasive slurry jet polishing of glass was studied at shallow angle of impact

A multistage polishing strategy was attempted to overcome the saturation in surface roughness

A physics based model was developed to predict the surface roughness generation with respect to process parameters at the different jet exposure time Master’s (M.E) Research work– Development of aluminium metal matrix composite material and its machinability study (2012-2013), Guide(s)- Prof K. S. Amirthagadeswaran, and B. Rajeswari, Department of Mechanical Engineering, GCT Coimbatore. Contributions

The stir casting process parameters were optimized using the Taguchi method in order to obtain better mechanical properties such as tensile strength and hardness for aluminium metal matrix composite

The machinability of aluminium metal matrix composite was investigated with respect to process parameters of the end milling process.

An Artificial neural network model was developed to predict the surface roughness generation and material removal rate

Under Graduate (B.E) project work - Study on Downdraft Bio Mass Gasifier (2010- 2011), Advisor: Prof V. Christus Jeya Singh, Department of Mechanical Engineering, SXCCE Nagercoil.
