Main duties and Responsibilities:
SCBU
Upon admission I take routine investigations and vital signs. Keep the patients medical records up to date in the nurse's treatment chart, administer medications. Preoperative care, postoperative care, transferring patients to O.R. from SCBU, after operation baby transferred to SCBU for stabilization. Recording Intake and output for babies with IV fluids and drain. Daily wound dressing for post operative babies.
NICU
Upon admission I will put the baby on warmer care or incubator care to keep the baby warm. Administering O2 via facemask or oxyhood (headbox).Then initiate IV line (It depends if the doctor will insert UVC line for premature baby) extract blood(artery / venous). Recording Vital signs, intake and output for babies with IV fluids and drain. Observation for stable babies checking proper id tagging, APGAR scoring, checking of birth weight and breastfeeding techniques.
Cases Handled:
CHD ( Ventricular Septal Defect, Atrial Septal Defect, PDA, Pulmonary Stenosis TOF), Esophageal atresia, Hydrocephalus, Myelomeninggocele, Omphalocele, Spina Bifida Occulta, Spina Bifida Cystica, Multiple Anomalies, Cleft lip / Cleft Palate. Gastric Motility Disorders(Gastroesphageal Reflux),Obstructive Disorders (Intestinal Obstruction and Malrotation, Pyloric stenosis, Intussusception), Pneumothorax, Diaphragmatic Hernia Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Bronchiolitis, Hemolytic Disorders ( RH incompatibility, ABO Incompatibility, Hyperbilirubenemia, Bronze Baby Syndrome), Talipes (Club foot), Conjoined Twins, Erb's Palsy.
