EDUCATION
The Chicago School of Professional Psychology: Washington, DC
August 2019 – July 2020
Degree in progress: Master of Arts, Industrial & Organizational Psychology
I am currently earning my degree in I-O to understand more about psychology applied to work. My graduate studies have included quantitative and qualitative research, workplace ethics, culture and diversity, testing and measurement, and leadership. Just finished an elective class for Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM), which covered Ulrich’s 30 years of research with nine HR competencies and best practices, and Personnel Psychology, which focuses on job analysis, selection, training, performance appraisal, and criterion development.
Bowie State University: Bowie, MD
August 2015 – May 2019
Bachelor of Science Degree, Psychology
Graduated with Honors
My undergraduate psychology courses allowed me to develop my oral and written communication skills while also using technology for assignments. Proficient with Word and PowerPoint, able to make video assignments, and good with coordinating group projects. The skills embedded in each course allowed me to understand more about human behavior from various theoretical lenses. For example, human behavior has connections to many factors, including cognitive, biological, unconscious, and innate needs. I advanced my abilities with decision-making, problem-solving, critical thinking, and following through with tasks. I also developed a more in-depth understanding of how personality impacts all that we do and how accurate self-awareness is key to success.
